I'd put this question in my tach/oil pressure thread. But, no response. Likely got buried. Anyway coolant temp sensor thread on G2160 with D782 anyone know that thread size? Will I be running into British sizes yet again? NPT or metric?
This should helpMaybe point me to a decent not expensive thread gauge?
Most theads can be identified with a $20 digital caliper and a thread chart downloaded for free off the internet. The major OD of BSP is unique - thread pitch is not.Maybe point me to a decent not expensive thread gauge?
1 inch = 25.4 mm. You can specify any thread using inch or metric units. Many thread charts contain both.Calipers I have. Just no way of determining the actual threads. I can pretty much eyeball most but only if I know in advance I'm dealing with metric or SAE. But throwing British is a whole new thing for me.
It could be British threads are used in my Toyotas and I'd never know because I simply am not "modding" them.
And as mentioned elsewhere, when I had my little Honda 4514 everything was metric on it including sensor threads.
Which is why the Kubota threw a curveball at me
Assuming this is the correct part number for your temp sensor-I'd put this question in my tach/oil pressure thread. But, no response. Likely got buried. Anyway coolant temp sensor thread on G2160 with D782 anyone know that thread size? Will I be running into British sizes yet again? NPT or metric?
Heres some more head spinning msterial:Now my head is spinning. Only thing I knew about British sizing is from helping my buddy when he was restoring his old 66 Triumph motorcycle MANY years ago. And he had to buy a whole set of British Whitworth tools. Even though they looked like good ol SAE tools i.e. 3/8" wrench etc, they were not the same
In case anyone is not clear on that the R 1/8 callout identifies a 1/8" male BSP taper pipe thread. Previously known as BSPT.Assuming this is the correct part number for your temp sensor-

It's an R1/8 thread.
