Hey Wildfire what does the speeco hitch measure between the hooks?
I have one of the HF ones and its exactly 26 1/2" and the hooks don't use the spacers. I see some listed @ 27 1/2" and from what attachments i have that size is much more compatible. my tiller is 26 1/2" to the outside of the frame so the pin shoulders prevent its use and my boxes frame is 26 1/2" dead center. I'm thinking seriously of cutting the top tube on the hitch and making it adjustable for width.

That last pic you posted is surely not one of your tractors, unless its a optical illusion its already bowed from extending the pins out too far.

No that's not my tractor. That last photo's were ones I pulled off the net to show the pin adapter placement.

Mine is exactly 27" from the inside to the inside of the thick hooks below.

"Mine is exactly 27" from the inside to the inside of the thick hooks below."

That would make it work for one of mine.
I have sat on a bucket and stared at that box scrape and still cant see the "easy" way to make it quick hitch friendly. All the stuff that needs to move is the 1/2" x 2" heavy stuff.

As I've said before,, only 1 of my attachments worked on the quick hitch without some kind of modifing. There is just not a standard correct size.. The diamater of the lift pins and top link pins are given for differrent catagoryies but, the spaceing between the lift arms and the spaceing from lift pin to top link is not standard. Dad has a Farm Trac 45, it has cat 2 lift arm pin sizes and the top link is cat 1 size. The quick hitch I have has cat 1 top link size and cat 3 lift arm hooks., that's why wildfire and I have those spacers on the quick hitch and,,, mine has the thick part to the inside and it fits perfect.

One of the items I really missed on the little BX was mirrors. The Grand L has great mirrors and I use them. Since i got 50 hours on the BX and just finished its first service I realized from the get go that I needed to put mirrors on the little beast.

Now I'll be honest I'm not a Hugh fan of mirrors on an open station tractor but seeing I miss having them I set out to try and find something that sort of looks as if it came with the machine. I spent hours looking and trying to imagine how each mirror would look and came up with these.

They were purchased off of eBay (see attached link) and I feel they fit the bill for what I was trying to accomplish. They are for a golf cart, they tip in and out of the way if need be. They swivel up and down with their ball and socket design. They came with all the brackets, stainless steel nuts, bolts and washers. The install was less than a 1/2 hour. I removed the FEL decal on the right side and re-located to the side of the FEL tube. I did have to drill four 15/64th holes but I didn’t mind doing that for this mod. I did add the two small convex mirrors and the Kubota decals but all in all I'm happy with them.

The vibration is minimal as well and they are coloured matched like the BX's dash so that was a bonus as well.
This is the safety mod I intended to do. Its simple, inexpensive and practical in my opinion. I'm posting this just in case other BX owners were looking for a mirror set up.
The next mod will be a little more expensive. Unpractical and got nothing to do with safety but its that cool factor I'm talk'in about ;)
Hope you all enjoy seeing it :)

Nice mirrors .. and wide angles on both sides!
Forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but I notice plastic edge beading on the fenders since the first post, is that standard or mod?

Wildfire, I think that's another homerun. I can't even count the times I wish my L3000 had mirrows. I run mine on the road almost daily and it sure would be nice to see what's coming around even though it's on a no passing road.

Thank you. You have a good eye. I've been posting these mods on two sites. The other site got almost 60.000 views and you are the ONLY one that noticed that. Yes it's moulding I've added to the bodywork to give the machine a more "finished" look. Even the locals who see the tractor in person don't pick up on it :D

Thanks. If I give you a hint everyone will want one lol

Hey. I don't mess up lol. Never throw anything out either :D. He's just curious about the next mod. I'm not sure if I gave the hint here or the other site so I'll give it again.

The next mod (I've already started) will be the most useless mod on the tractor BUT its just plain cool!

Thanks my friend. I really didn't want to put mirrors on the tractor but I almost put the backhoe through the shed because of no mirrors. I just got lazy that one time and didn't look back. I came within inches of hitting it so I knew it was time. Trying to find a mirror that didn't look too stupid was a real challenge but for me personally these mirrors are on the lower end of the stupid scale :D

They sure are nice to use though.

I missed not having mirrors and yours look great. Thanks for providing the link - I have ordered a set.

I also used your idea and replaced the hose clamp with a muffler clamp to hold the safety triangle. The hose clamp was a pretty poor design.

Very interesting ideas - keep them coming.

Cool. Glad your getting something out of the thread :) I like those mirrors. Good price too.

Here's another mod for you all.

Well my 4240 had them. The 5740 got them so the BX do now as well. Yes it’s been done before but I don’t care. I wanted to see them on the little fellow. Now he looks like his dad.
They started out a John Deere fenders and ended up something else. Made it out of left over 1/8th plate and 1” flat bar and it’s strong.
Now for those who just might want to copy this design please keep in mind that I have Bro-Tek wheel spacers on my tractor so without wheel spacers it would be a totally different design. I know the machine won’t go fast enough to flick mud off the tires. I know some might not like it, I’m cool with that. Heck, I’m the first one to call this mod “Worthless but Cool”
