I wish i had the sort of skills you have, and all that kit you have there at your disposal, awesome man.

anyway, i think you have now reached perfection with it including the level of dirt and crud on it, just looks spot on now with that muck spread around it.

Well I've been spending every spare minute on the BX. I have three tandem loads of class "A" to spread and a load of topsoil so that takes time. Ive been pulling up steel fence posts and I've also been cutting down trees and all of this in my spare time lol

Could be. Americans speak a differant launguage than Canadians.
You call some trucks low boys and we call them floats. You have sheet rock, we have Gyprock. Then you have shaker cans of paint and we simply call them spray cans
Class "A" can compact to solid once you run it over a few times. I can now use the 5740 where it needs to go. Worked late last evening on the land and it was cold but I'm getting there.

I do know for sure here in Virginia the Department of Transportation sets the requirements of stone to be quarried at the pits to meet their standards. No matter which quarry you go to in Va all stone is produced to VDOT certified standards.

Ya it's pretty well the same way up here with that stuff. Keep everything standardized.
Just picked up a quick hitch for the BX. It was a out of box deal so they threw in the missing adapters and then some. $250. I thought it was a good deal.

This has been done before and I just like to add my own touch to it and any improvements that might come to mind in the process. Another goal I have is to make it look as much a "factory" piece as it can be so I hope I've accomplished that.

I'm calling this "Tow Guard" As some of you will notice, I have installed a Quick Hitch to the BX so I needed a way to tow, drag, pull something so I designed the Tow Guard. I'm calling it a guard because of the 1/4 shield I have in the front. If I back up to something and I miss the ball I'll hit the guard and not the tractor. Well that's the way its supposed to work lol.

Everything is mostly 1/4 thick material except the end pieces where the pins go in. They are 1/2". The square bottom tube is 4" X 1/4. Is it over kill you ask? For sure BUT I had this metal kicking around the shop so that's why I used it. The total hitch weighs in at 51.4 pounds.

Anyway have a look.

If you look closely at the photo the top pin has a handle and the black intrusion is also a handle. It makes installation and removal much easier and helps avoid squatting ones fingers which I very much dislike

Wildfire, Kind of a newbie here and I love your work. Back in post 45 you mentioned bolting on a hook with galvanized bolts, do you guys up north have better grades of galv. bolts to choose from? Here in the states a galv. carriage bolt barely makes grade 3 and it wouldn't be something I would trust to hold a chain hook.

You mentioned shrinking your photos, you might check to see if you camera has a lower setting and that way you wouldn't have to do another step to post. Either way I really enjoy your wright ups,huge pictures and all.lol

Your pruner scabbard sure trumps my piece of hose clamped pvc pipe that I shove one of the handles into.
You must have your own vinyl machine with all the custom graphics.
Shiny paint and stickers add to the overall look but anyone that's ever built anything for there self sees the craftsmanship you put into your projects, its almost sinfull to cover your beautiful welds with paint.

Good observation. Those bolts are grade 5. You need to remember that these went on a BX25. Even grade 3's four inches apart and four of them would withstand anything a BX could put on them in that set up.

Yes I do shrink them because I want to keep my originals at full resolution the ones I shrink are the ones I duplicate. One the other site I spend most of my time on those photos are automatically shrunken. Glad your enjoying the posts. Thanks.

Well I really do try and live by my signature. I'm not known to take many short cuts lol. Yes my wifey do all my graphics on her machines. She's got a few different types.
Glad you like the welds but to be honest the last welds I showed here are just basic fast moving welds. If I had to do a decorative weld or one that's going to be critical it would look similar to this one I did awhile ago.

Well Mr.Skeets when you think about it, its much easier to do a half decent weld than a bad one. If you do a bad one you old have a fracture, poor looking then there's the guys who grind welds. Wouldn't it be just better to do a good weld and move on? I think so and I'm still practicing my welds. oh. Thanks

wildfire,, the slide on spacer pins on the bottom. You have them on backwards. That thick part goes to the inside to keep the quick hitch from slideing back and forth.

Actually they can go both ways. Most I have seen are on my way either way it can't slide. Case in point. Just google 3pt hitch. I did ad look at this image.
