In my neck of the woods I can rent toys from the local Kubota dealer on a weekend rental. I can pick something up late Friday afternoon and keep it until early Monday morning for a weekend rental price. The local rental stores don't do that because they are open almost a full day on Saturdays when the weekend warrior homeowners want to get things done.

Wildfire. I was trying to clean the engine bay of my Kubota B3200 yesterday.
First, I picked up an air blow gun to blow off the dust on the engine components. My air compressor was at 100-120psi. While I was doing that, I notice a few chunks of paints were blown off the alternator. I was like what's the hell...I did let the air blow gun nose sit close to (actually some point - against) the engine component surfaces. Am I doing something wrong or is it a poor paint job on engine?
No my friend. Your not doing anything wrong. Kubota just flashes there engines with paint and no primer. Pretty well everyone is doing it that way. No primer means the paint don't stay on. Keep it fresh by getting a shaker can and respray that area. It will look new again ;)

Holly, I thought only no primer on attachments. Thank you, Paul.

I really think that tractor manufactures consider tractors as just a machine so they paint the motors to make them look pretty so they will look good on their show room floor and don't really care if the paint stays on the motor after the sale.
Well the guys I personally know think of their tractor as a toy/tool and they want it to look as nice as possible as long as it can and care about paint pealing like you and me.
Your very welcome ;)

When it comes to washing/polishing my tractors get more attention than anything I own. Something about nice shiny Orange that makes me smile.

I totally agree about the orange part but I'm like it with everything I have. I wash, wax and try and keep it all spotless. For what it cost you have to take care of it. :)

Well wifey and I put 2.5 hours on the chipper this morning and all I can say is WOW! It's friggen awesome. It's exceeded all my expectations. All the wood was green and just cut and never once plugged. They say the BXM32 is good for 3", well I put a lot bigger in it than that and it handled it for fun. We got a lot of video footage of it in action so I'll try and throw together a video of it later on but here's a few photo's of it and what it can do. The chipper was a joke for the Kubota BX25D as well. I'm impressed. :D

WAAIIIITTT is that Mrs. Short or a daughter Short?!??!

Man that will get you in wifely good books for sure :D

Well after wifey and I did some chipping I decided to take the chipper off and put the back hoe on with the claw I made. Taking the chipper off was so easy with the castor set up I made for it. I had it off and pushed in the shop in no time. Got the back hoe on with the claw and laid down 100' of underground wiring. It was so much easier. Then we pulled up a few roots with the claw.
The BX worked great although it's much slower than the large equipment I'm use to operating but If I wanted faster I just needed to spend another $400.000 and I would have gotten faster so the BX will do just fine for now :D
I got some great HD video to put up but just ran out of time to maybe tomorrow I'll do it. Here's a few photos to bore you all with for now if anyone is actually still looking at this stuff .

Skeets, I think he's trying to be funny again.

Wildfire, I had a buddy down tonight and we were talking about alot of nothing when something was mentioned about fabricating. I introduced him to OTT and we went from start to finish on the BX post. By the way, my buddy said he loves your shop. When we got to the lighting portion he made a comment about how he figured the lights worked.

Ended up on youtube where we watched the entire video about the 5740, the Thinking outside the box video, a 4240 video and finished it off with a Mustang viewing. By the way, I think the new mufflers sound great also. I don't know if we have a new OTT fan but he thinks Wildfire has cool toys and he wants to move in the garage.

I can't speak for everyone but we're still looking and enjoying.

Let me try and see if I understood your post correctly. YOU got your buddy to sit down and watch my old videos and look at my photos?
Now that's not the way to treat a buddy lol

Thanks buddy :)

Paul, you don't realize how much a few photo's and 4 or 5 video's meant to a person you never even heard of. My buddy was formerly a welder by trade and truely loved what he did. About 3 years ago he got sick and has been left with a permanent disability. We sat here and looked over several different threads but mostly the one on your BX. Any time I can talk tractors or welding I'll do that over about anything else. So we had about 3 or so hrs of quality tractor time on the computer.

Long story short even non tractor people can enjoy and learn from your pics and video's. You keep making them and we'll keep watching, thanks buddy.

Well my friend I'm glad your friend enjoyed seeing some of the things that I do and I truly hope he's on the mend, It must be very difficult to stop doing something that you once loved to do so please give him my best wishes.

You know I find it very amusing in some ways. I started out on these tractor forums back in 2008 when we got our Kubota 4240. I started posting a few of the things I was doing with it and to be honest I was almost ashamed to post them because they were so insignificant compared to my "Real" daily work.

With my day job I look at some of it and say "That's a home run" but I've never felt that way about any of my tractor stuff. I guess it's because I just don't look at it as work and more in the way of relaxation.

I will also admit I underestimated the popularity of tractors and just how many are out there.
We get at least two calls a week from guys from the states, Canada, got a call from Thailand and one from Malta and the guys say that they read my threads and wanted to call.

Some days I just can't get the phone so wifey gets to tell them a little about us and what we do and both my wife and I are fascinated by that but when a former welder likes what we do then that's the ultimate compliment so be sure to thank him for us.

Paul I don't think you get the full drift, I think every one learns something, I know I do and with each mod you make a dozen other guys are forming mods of their own based on what you did. There's a ton of Ideas I have and would like to try but I do not have the skills or knowledge that so many guys in here have, and take for granted, as it aint no big thing. But to me I stand in awe of you guys, so yeah you and the other guys can keep those kinds of threads going cause guys like me read, watch, and learn, and think damn aint that neat!

Thanks buddy. In the winter time I have more time for posting because the shop slows down to a more manageable pace plus I have the larger tractor out snow clearing and all but this time of the year the shop is crazy busy and now with the BX its hard getting to post but I'll do my best.

I must say wifey and I had a great productive weekend with the BX. The chipper works great and the "Claw" is fantastic. This weekend we cut down some trees, chipped them and used the chips around our main trees. We installed a water fountain and a new street light and used the "Claw" to dig and run the wire to the Newley added items. Even had people drive up to talk about the tractor and look at its new ad ons. Here's a cell phone pic but we have some HD video to put up this week on it all.

ps. After I have built my chipper, I changed the way what to do with the branches. Because little animals loosing their habitats all around us, I thought it would be a good idea to built a biotop. Now I just throw everything on a heap. It has grown to 12x3 meters and nearly 2 meters hight. Last weekend I saw a lizard there sitting to catch some sunshine. There are hedgehogs, birds and all those creatures.
Ok it looks like I am a little bit lazy, but when you see lizards, which are really rare here, I think it works for at least some animals. And I have less work ...
I also placed a pole with a short branch at the top in the garden. It is 6m hight and is sometimes occupied by a buzzard looking for mice. There was even an old one with a young one at the same time. Thats great, just in front of the window!!

That's good thinking Carl. The animals need to live to. The problem I have with doing that is if I eave the braches around it could become a fire hazard. Seeing a lizard would be cool.
About the only thing we have a lot of here is Moose, sea gulls, crows, wild ducks and two legged skunks. Lots of two legged skunks :D

Soon on the video my friend
