I don't know if people are familiar with the company SCANSTRUT but they make really nice cable glands that offer a waterproof solution for passing cables through bulkheads, consoles, caps, etc. They come with grommets that compress as the outer trim is installed which seals around the cable or wire. They include a solid grommet that can be drilled to suit. I had to run two wires from the jack plate motor and two wires (in a single jacket) from the jack plate height sensor into the interior of the boat. Following SCANSTRUT instructions, I put the solid grommet in the freezer and then drilled three small holes for the three wires.
The local Kubota dealer had some nice spiral wire/hose loom in stock so I used a few feet for a factory look. The light grey piece is screwed to the hull with a waterproof gasket between it and the hull. The outer trim rim attaches to the plastic mounting plate with machine screws. There are four nuts in recesses on the back side of the mounting plate. All in all a very nice solution.
