Tractor BX23S / QH05 with Land Pride FDR 1660. I know the shields are not on the driveshaft. Right now I am test-fitting everything, and the shields will go on once everything is settled.

I don't like the looks of top/center link at all but if rear of mower comes up when you raise 3 point I suppose it will work.

Do you need to lift the whole mower off the ground?

I ask since I almost never attach the TopLink to mine... I just drag it behind my tractor with the 2 lower arms. There is one spot that I raise up the front tires of the finishing mower to clear a couple of rocks (that I know of...).

I used it to cut the grass before I adjusted the hookup and had it hanging from the hook on the quick hitch, but if I hit a bump, it would fall off the hook. This was how the 2024 online manual instructed me to hook it up, and then I took a look at the manual that was printed in 2018 and it showed it this way. With it hooked up like pictured I can lift the front wheels, and if I move the lever to get a full lift, then the rear will come up about 4". It is almost impossible to back it up since it wants to move from side to side. I opted for this mower because I couldn't find a used underbelly mower for under $2000. This one was $1000, plus I had to purchase a few other small items that were missing (about $40). I am contemplating adding the optional front roller, but don't know if it is necessary.

Very close to perfect.

When I set my finish mower up I place the tractor and mower on a level surface. Set the lower connection points so they are 'level'. Then adjust the top link so that the bore holes of the top connection and the lower connections 'align' (as if you were to drop a plumb line).

This allows the deck to 'float' up and down evenly and should allow enough 'lift' for you to raise the deck off the ground for transport or negotiate dips in the terrain if severe.

I added the front roller to my FDR 1672 and it does prevent the deck from really digging in sometimes....but it doesn't prevent all 'scalping' if you have a rough area to mow.

Thanks for all the replies. It is a little too large for our side yard, but once I get used to it, I am sure it will work out. I also have a 42" Husqvarna zero-turn mower which was used for lawn mowing duties for the past few years. I can fall back on that machine for the tight areas.
