Quick-Hitch for CAT 1

I am looking to buy a Quick hitch for my tractor to make hooking up attachments easier, but was curious why I never hear of anyone using them, or even seeing any in use on how to videos...if they are so great, why don't i see them in use? They sound like a great idea, and they make it look so easy to just hook up and go. Anyone out there have any experience? good or bad? I was planning of buying one from LAND PRIDE...i know they are more $$$ but built well...quality

We sell the LP quick hitches. Some people love them! They do work good if you have all LP equipment. Personally I think they are more work than running without one, but that's likely just me! ( and I don't have all LP equipment!)

Could you explain why you think they are more work? Maybe give me some pros and cons if you don't mind. I'm a new tractor owner with a bad back and i admit i am ignorant in the tractor world. thanx for your insight

oh, and yes, all 4 implements are LP, i do plan on getting an LR3684 rake as well. And just also curious why LP discontinues the LR35 series landscape rake?

If you have all LP equipment it will work ok. Just make sure when you unhook that the implement is secure and will be in the same position when you try to reattach! ( if it settles or falls to one side or the other it will be a bitch to hook up to again!!)

Your tiller will be the most troublesome. As I wrote in the first post, some people love them!

I use a quick hich, not a LP, Speerco I think and its great. I change implement's a lot so its a big time saver for sure. I would not have a tractor without one!

The tiller is the reason I got mine in the first place, I just pick it up flip the levers and hook up the pto, no problem!

Thank you eserv for your reply ..but i still find myself asking...why do people like them? Why do people not like them? Detailed information was and is what i am looking for to help me decide on if i should buy one or not, and my confusion comes from hearing that people love them but yet i do not see any in use on tractor pictures, videos, or this tractor forum. You say that you find them to be more work. That's great info but why are they more work? Do you need a longer top link because it adds 4 inches, does it need or impeed adjustments that you might like to make on your implements, is it stable? are bushings really necessary? you know ..stuff like that. You said that you sell them. Do you sell alot of them? or you can't get rid of them , nobody buys them? Again, thank you for taking the time to reply, but i need more info.

It moves your tiller back 3" or so, you will have to check your pto shaft length. If you look at the picture under Iowan you can see it on the back of my BX just in front of the tiller. You set the lower arm's up once ( side to side and level ) and your top link will adjust like it would without the quick hitch.

I use one on m bx2360 and it is a speeco. It is far less work to hook up attachments. You may need to do a little work on older attachments but once you have them all set it's just back up,pick up,lock up. I change out all day long from carryall to 48" rotary cutter to back blade to trailer (2" hitch receiver) set up for QH. I also use it as my hitch for skidding logs out of the woods for processing. I have only taken it off the tractor once since it was put on a year ago to hook up a tiller I borrowed from a friend that was not set up to fit and was back on as soon as I was done . He liked the rig so much he now has one on his rig and I helped him to set up the tiller to fit .

Only thing I could think of to follow up with your private message to me is buy one and try it out for yourself. They are not expensice like 150 bucks or so, and if don't like it and aren't happy sell it.

Only way to make a believer out of somebody is for them to try it for themselves.

Quick hitch 3pt

Went to local dealer recently lookin at 3pt quick att n he told me there built cheap n unless all ur atchment r from same manufacture u will hav problems with the hight width n dont work all that well any one ever build there own or hav any insight on this issue please help me im tired of fighting to line up pin with pin holes

I rented a tiller last week to use with my new to me Kubota B7100. The problem I ran into was the PTO shaft was too long and for obvious reasons the rental place wouldn't allow me to cut it. The options were these, drive the 1 hour back and return the tiller, buy a new PTO shaft for the tiller, buy a quick-hitch to set back the tiller so the PTO shaft would fit. I went with the 3rd choice. While I paid way more than I needed to, ($290) it was the only one at any of the businesses and Implement dealers in town (John Deere, Case IH, Kubota, New Holland/Ford) It was better than driving another 2 hours round trip to see if they had any in another town.

I did get everything tilled and the Quick hitch worked great, I just wish I got it under better circumstances!

Sorry you had to go through that! I'm sure you were frustrated, but you probably took the best option- at least you can get use out of the quick hitch. And, if you rent the tiller in the future, you have the issue covered. Some lessons are learned the hard (expensive) way.

Those were the words out of my mouth exactly! I knew it would be close on the PTO shaft, I actually measured it before I picked it up. I thought I had a little more room than I did. I was just happy I got it to work. I want to buy a tiller, but I need to pay off the tractor and some other bills first. So I will probably be renting it again. This time I am ready! Also, I actually preferred the quick hitch. It lengthened out the shaft and made it easier to get on and off. That would be a bonus of a quick hitch over not having one.

If seen alot of different prices for a Quick-Hitch, from $150 to $500. I did notice that the link you sent me was a land pride catigory I Quick-Hitch, which is the one i am leaning toward, but it is fairly expensive at $480. But i figure it is my best option since all of my implements are land pride...but i do notice they are alot more money than other brands, i assume it is because they are well made? Thank you for helping me make a decision..
