Just an afterthought, but it’s possible to get a little more lift from your BX three-point hitch if you make the following simple modification to the lift rods. I did it on my BX 2200 and it made enough difference that I can swing a 6 foot landscape rake around if needed, which I couldn’t do before the modification.

The following is not my picture, but it doesn’t look any different than what I did. You simply drill a second hole higher in the lift rod fork. Simple and effective.

very good idea 100% keeping this in mind

now: I need to cut metal structure to get it ready to weld back together, work on getting machine ready for transport to take it to welder so fix the bucket and,

I need to take the machine and random hardware when I go find a 3 point auger, to try make sure it works before purchasing

I do have some hardware from L295DT that might come in handy, but probably not since it is not class 1 3 point hitch

I am hammering the bucket back into place, but it might be too far gone

It is too warped to the point where I do not think any weld can hold

I am considering just as a temporary fix to put some steel plates, but using big bolts

the problem with that idea: any bolts scraping the ground, 100% are going to fail from friction with the ground

At this point, I’ll take measurements to see what a used replacement will be

Any fabrication I put into it could be waste of time/energy/money

Top link

I found a bush hog 40-06, the seller is saying that it is class 1 and will fit this tractor

But, he is saying that the top link is missing for the bush hog scraper to work

Will I also need the top link to make the 3 point auger work?

Any chance they sell these at tractor supply? Online order will take too long.

Also, do yall recommend that scraper on this size tractor?

You should be able to get the top link at a dealership or tractor supply store. You will probably have to grind down the width where it pins to the tractor. Kubota seems to be a bit undersized for that.

The post hole auger will NOT need the top link. See the pictures in this add to see how the implement fits onto the tractor. First one is the implement with no tractor sitting on its stand which will help you understand it. Most are laying down on the ground and you will have to wrestle it into a vertical position which is not fun. People usually get the auger chained up to some overhead point to store them or make some sort of structure to keep them upright.

Yes I am listening carefully, which ad are you referencing?

Ok here is the bush hog 40-06 scraper

The seller is claiming it is class 1 three point hitch which should fit on this tractor

What do yall think of this setup on this tractor?

I figured: I need to flatten land and the bucket is completely destroyed and I do not think that welding it will work, or it would cost more than $500 in welding time/supplies/effort

Use this scraper since the bucket is down to finish off the few unleveled areas on the project

Do yall think it will work and perform properly?

I will still use the bucket for: ladder situations, moving tools around projects, etc

Just not scraping any land or carrying heavy dirt

I plan on setting up the 3 point hitch for this scraper, and the auger

here is pictures of the augers I am seeing thursday

do yall think any of them could work? Seller says he can possibly make it work

Yes I see their setup and I see how it mounts to the back of the tractor

Honestly $650 for that entire setup is not bad

I dont think I can get the entire setup used for less than that

In this description: it does say that it will fit category 1 and category 2 three point hitches

Does that mean that all setups that are category 2 will also work on my Kubota BX?

My plan is still haul around the tractor and just install it on spot instead of buying parts hoping they fit

I plan on going to see this one today, it is the cheapest and the closest one I found

Let me know if you can tell if it not going to work, or if it is going to work

My gut tells me it’s not gonna work without significant modifications.

Can your three-point hitch spread wide enough go onto those pins? If not, you can always reverse the pins so that’s not the issue. Probably.

The auger looks pretty long. My bet is that you won’t have enough ability to lift the whole works enough to keep the auger above the ground. This would be a major issue.

Anyway, 4 PM Eastern time as I type this so you probably already left to go look at it and make a decision. Hope you made the right one!

No I havent left yet, I did get the tractor loaded onto pickup

But I was about to leave to go try one out, and seller said: your tractor has too small of wheels, and you will be sorry you tried, and then stopped responding

It was for this one:

lostdeal.jpeg

we had deal at 400, then I sent picture of the back of my kubota, then he said it wont work

But from what I remember, someone yesterday on this thread showed a similar setup on their BX

Seller stated: although it fit on your BX, the wheels are too small and it will sag/you cant move

My rebuttal:

Why cant I do like someone told me to drill a hole in the support that would allow the auger to be lifted higher to offset the sagging?

The reason is because you still won’t get enough lift. It sure seems like the seller is an honest guy and telling you what he thinks. He probably has a lot more experience than you do along these lines…

You are stating: Even if you do that trick like someone told you in this thread, you will still not have enough clearance to move the tractor at all

My rebuttal: How did that person in this thread, put a similar Auger setup on their BX?

I get that the seller is honest, but many people do not know about little tricks like the one where you drill the holes in the support arms to get more lift...

Update: I asked seller, If I get a shorter auger, will that solve the problem, he said yes

My understanding: You can get his setup, and interchange augers and it should work on my BX tractor

Similar is not identical. That is the difference.

Wishful thinking does not always produce satisfactory results.

Not being there and not knowing anything about the exact situation, I can only speculate.

just an afterthought, but you could always just tell the seller that you’re willing to take a chance and buy what he is selling at no risk to him. You will pick it up and take your chances…

So far from what I am gathering:

The boom and all the bolts will line up that hold the auger, but

The auger is so tall, that no way can the tractor move even with 3 point all the way up,

Solution: get smaller auger

Now, my new question:

Can I get that boom and that whole structure attached, THEN put a shorter auger and make it work?

Meaning:

Do all the augers attach in the same way to the boom? Or

Are augers specifically designed to attach their own boom?

detailedauger34.jpg

Ok here a close up of where the auger attaches

I am guessing that is a 1 inch hole, and you put a pin with cotter to secure it

Let me know which is more correct -

1. They are interchangeable, most augers attach the same, OR

2. No, they are not interchangeable. Most augers are specific and come as a package

I suppose you could. But I think somebody in the thread earlier said that you could buy a new unit from tractor supply that would work on your BX1500 for something like $600. So it may not make sense to buy something used for $400, if it needs modifications to make it work, which will cost dollars.

Yes, I am listening

Out the door it would be $700+, and you know that metal might be cheaper

I am willing to get the $400 setup, then later on get a smaller auger IF

"The augers are interchangeable"

I did see smaller augers going for $50-$75

bettersetup1.jpeg

Ok here is one, 1 hour closer drive, $100 dollars cheaper, AND

The auger looks shorter than the one with the seller saying it wont work

From what i am gathering:

The points where the boom attaches to the BX kubota WILL WORK and

The driveline PTO setup will attach properly, AND

if this auger is smaller, THEN

It will work properly on my tractor, and not need any more spending

Let me know if I am correct or incorrect

Another observation: Study where the Auger attaches to the boom, they all seem similar/same size

It looks like 1.5 inch

Here is a closeup of the augers I showed yall yesterday

Study the attachment, some have a plate that forms a sandwich,

The one on the left has that same hole like the setups I plan on going to see

But they all seem to have that same pipe size

Personally, I don't think I can give you any guidance.

Best of luck in your decision. Let us know how it works out…

edit: I think I do remember from the picture you posted previously that the smallest auger which might be a four or 6 inch I couldn't tell, had damage at the digging end…

Its gonna work out fine long as those main connections fit,

Long as I can get the driveline going properly, and it goes up and down, later on:

the auger can be figured out that will work

thank you for your thinking, and you did help me figure it out (I am hoping)
