I have a kubota tractor Saturn X-20 and it started leaking after a few hours working.

The temperature was between the C and H marks. Some steam and a leak were visible also under the rear of the engine. The leak increased but soon i stopped. The water in the overflow tank was boiling/bubbling. I stopped and put the tractor to cool.

It is a second hand tractor with only 360h working time and the first thing I did was repairing the leak in the radiator. I was wondering to replace the radiator as it may have been blocked/constricted when it was repaired and also replace the thermostat.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

George

I'm having cooling proplems also, in your case maybe a test of that thermostat 1st and if it's opening as it should the radiator may need to come out and be checked for leaks and flow restriction. is there a radiator repair place near you? i'm no pro but that's what i would do.

Hi George it appears that your getting air into your cooling system, I think you probably have aleaking head gasket or a cracked head. You said you had steam coming from the back of the motor for a time, you could pressure test the system to try to pin point the exact spot that the fluid was coming from. This is just an opinion.

Hey guys i'm new to this website! Anyways I have a ZD221 mower and I just put 100hrs on it today, and I just so happen to look down at the temp gauge and it was getting close to the red danger zone! So I shut down the mower and looked at the engine and the over flow tank was boiling and just about empty. I don't know what was wrong. I looked at the radiator and it's full to the top. Do you guys just think that the radiator needs to be cleaned? I still have warranty on it if anything. Thanks!!

Make certain the fins of the rad are not plugged with grass clippings, dried leaves etc. If you restrict the air flow across the rad you will overheat.

What Dave said- that seems to be the leading cause of overheating. You can take compressed air and blow from the inside of the radiator to the outside/front, dislodging debris.
