After a recent thread about my BH hoses and adding a 45 elbow to accommodate the 3 pt hitch arm, I decide to review my 3 function hoses.

The couplers point straight forward and the grapple hose like to rub up against the SSQA handles. So I thought just add 45 elbows at the grapple couplers. Easy peasy, right? Only problem is I can't find a 45 deg elbow that is MORB to FORB. Do they make such a beast?

Best I can do is Male to Male 45 ORB elbow and then a Female to Female coupler. Not the end of the world but I don't understand why I can't the 45 male to female. They make everything else.

BTW: Is there any rhyme or reason to the fitting numbering system? For example the 45 MORB to MORB is a 6808 and the F to F ORB coupler is a 6425. I understand the dash numbers (hose sizes).

Thanks
Alfred

Here you go:
That's a 90, which is also an option that gets it done with one piece.
I'm thinking a 45 would give a better angle for the hoses....
I've been looking everywhere looking for the 45 and my Google foo has been letting me down. Maybe the 45 doesn't exist...

Yea it does appear that a 45 in that configuration is a unicorn fitting.

Thanks NIW, I just figured I would ask to make sure I wasn't missing something.
It's weird that of all the configurations for fittings, that one is not available.
I would not expect to find that configuration. I am not sure what you are trying.to connect. What would go on the male end and what would go on the female end?

Goes between the hose ends and couplers on the SGC1060 grapple. Couplers are female ORB and hose ends are male ORB.
Are you sure the hose ends are male ORB. Thats a relatively uncommon end type. Most OEMS would use a JIC swivel hose end and this adapter which is a good bit cheaper. You can get that adapter as a 45.

Yes, hose is Land Pride P# 851-090C. The JIC end is on the grapple end and couplers are FORB directly on the hose. Had to replace the grapple hoses when I bought it used, went with the LP "standard" part.

Yes i just looked them up.

You will have to cobble some adapters together. Or replace the hose ends with JIC female swivels And use a male ORB X malejIC 45 elbow.

Sorry Charlie, no joy. 😜 That is a "flat face O-Ring" where the O-ring is in the face of the male end. (They sure don't make this easy.)

But your previous idea of using a 45 MORB-FNPT(6902) and then a straight MNPT-FORB(6404) looks like it will do the trick at the lowest cost and in stock. 2x plus a 45 M-F NPT elbow for the BH, all for $27 delivered.

Thank you to everyone 🙂
