Does anyone know if the universals can be replaced on the mid PTO Driveline? Someone told me that Kubota does not sell the universals and only sells the complete unit (70060-04541) I have a shaft that the universals are shot on and was considering just replacing them.

Do you see clips on the bearing cups inside or out?
Do do see a dot of plastic on the outside of the yoke edges?

Oh yes, there are clips on the outside of the cups, inside the yoke. My question is, is there a reason that Kubota doesn't offer the ujoints as a part and only the whole unit? (Other than greed and money)

Yes they can. I recently sourced every individual part for the mid-PTO driveline from the PTO output shaft to the very front. The only part I could not buy aftermarket was the double ended splined shaft that is mounted through the two pillow block bearings.

U-Joint
Cap diameter .965"(31/32")
Outside width 2.300" (2-9/32)
Kubota 70060-01020
Weasler 6 series 200-0600
Weasler 6 series extended life 201-0600
Moog 861
ACDELCO 45U6001

The u-joints listed above have various sized needle bearings so they'll vary in how many hours you'll get out of them.

WOW! You really did your homework on this one.
Thanks for the info!!!
So I'm assuming that Kubota just doesn't break down the parts (U-joints for the shaft) as they would just rather that you purchase the whole unit?

They do break down the parts but all you'll see are Kubota part numbers, no aftermarket part numbers.

Mine's a B2714C with the 70060-04541 fixed length driveline

For the u-joints, I ordered the AC Delco from Rockauto.com for $12 ea + shipping. I need a couple more so I just now ordered the last two AC Delco joints they had. It's used for the steering shaft u-joint on Chevy P30 vans.

Funny, the service tech at the Kubota dealer told this guy that they (Kubota) don't sell the parts for the shaft, and only sell the shaft as a unit. When I looked on Kubota's site, I couldn't find the parts breakdown of the shaft and only the shaft as a unit.
I have the same set up as you B2714C & shaft #70060--4541

I will say this- I only saved a minimal amount purchasing all of the parts to build a complete new 70060-04541 shaft and paying a driveline shop to weld and balance the shaft compared to if I had bought 70060-04541 whole from Kubota. You can see the whole shaft is priced at $389 from Kubota where I came in at about $340 all said and done.

Kubota's pricing for individual components is nuts though.

Yea, I see the individual components are crazy prices. I'm hoping that I can just replace the u-joints and it won't need to be balanced. I wasn't planning on rebuilding the entire driveline.

Mark the orientation of every joint before taking it apart, and put it back the same way and you won't have to rebalance anything.
