Cylinder pin and bushing spec/tolerance LA534 (B2650 tractor)

Good afternoon,

I have a fair bit of slop one of the pins in the loader (LA534) on my tractor (B2650).

The is the upper cylinder pin in the below screenshot. I have what seems to me an unusual amount of slop in the joint (tractor has 250 hrs, was not well taken care of before I got it recently).

Any idea what an acceptable amount of play is between the pin and the bushings?

I measure the following:
Pin: 24.81mm
Outboard bushing on loader: 25.63mm
Cylinder bushing: 25.37mm
Inboard bushing on loader: 25.58mm.

If you had the WSM, it would show the tolerances. Here's the table for my TL720 I printed recently. The sizes are similar, so the tolerances should be too.

Thanks - looks like your pins bushing have a tolerance of around 0.3mm gap, while mine is around 0.8mm.

Rule of thumb - ,010 inch clearance new for pin in rod. I just yesterday measured a new Kubota OEM pin and bushing at .012. I would expect almost no wear in 250 hours.

That was my thoughts also. I have over 700hr in my BX without play like this. I wonder if the previous owner hit something, as the SSQA plates are also misaligned by about an inch.

Video link below - I suspect I"ll have to replace the weld on bushings. Does anyone have a part number for those?

Are both sides equally bad?

....I might pull that pin, measure it and compare it to the specs. EDIT: after rereading you have already done this....as you were.


Maybe you will get lucky and just have to buy a new pin to get it within an acceptable amount of play.

I think cutting and welding would be my last resort.

Instead, I would check into buying/making an oversized pin and possibly "reaming" it to fit new pin? Just spit ballin....

Do you think the amount of play is an issue that needs to be repaired?

I just bought the tractor used and am going through it with a fine toothed comb. I'm not sure what to expect with regard to this level of play.

Unless you get lucky, I think you're stuck with some roll-your-own. Those weld on bushings are part of the boom. You could ream and press-fit new bushings, which is probably what you'll need to do on the cylinder, if you don't ream and use an oversize pin.

The TL500 loader for the B26 has bushings on the bucket end of the boom which might help, if you're lucky.

Unless you get lucky, I think you're stuck with some roll-your-own. Those weld on bushings are part of the boom. You could ream and press-fit new bushings, which is probably what you'll need to do on the cylinder, if you don't ream and use an oversize pin.

from the OP numbers, I suspect it's supposed to be a 25.4" pin ( aka 1" ) and that maybe grease wasn't getting into it properly, and wore the pin smaller ?
I'd buy 2 new pins and see how they fit,then remove,confirm grease Zerk works, then reinstall and pump grease as needed, then cycle the loader (full up-down several times, another pump of grease,cycle again.
then check for 'fit'.

I have two vintage Rockwell lathes - an 11" and a 14" that I moved with a pickup and trailer. You might be surprised what you can move if you are motivated. My largest machine is an 8000# mill that I moved with the help of a rollback driver and unloaded with a rented forklift.

Machine tools are a lot like tractors. Once you buy one you always want/need a bigger one....
