L345DT front pto help

So I just got an L345DT.

I see there’s a spline on the front of the crankshaft pulley which could presumably drive a pto (guess it needs a 1:4 reduction, or could drive a mid mower deck).

Does anyone know what size and spline it is and if and where and what part number I can get to attach.

Update: Took better pics in daylight! Looks like 18 spline about an inch diameter.

They don't use that spline to drive implements.
I know it looks like it should, but they learned rather quickly that the size of that shaft was inadequate to support a coupling and hold up.
So they made an adapter to do it properly.
It bolts to the pulley and is larger and fits over the Crank splines.
Now that adapter is VERY VERY VERY hard to find.
And most are damaged and non usable, so be careful.
There is also several sizes of the adapter for different engines so you would need to find one that is the right size.

Then you would need to find the electric clutch and shaft that attaches to the adapter.
That is what is used to make a front PTO for that model.

All of the parts have been obsolete for many years and are near to Impossible to find.

Curious where your going to find and how your going to adap a MMM for a tractor that never had a MMM to begine with????

Even a Mower for a newer L, they used the Mid PTO to drive it.
MMM for a L's are very rare.

Just get a rear mower and save your self a TON of work and re-engineering of the wheel.

I had a B8200 that had a similar adapter and it powered an electric clutch that turned a belt that went down to power a belly mower.

Kubota used the splines on the crankshaft originally to power the clutch but soon the splines gave up the ghost. The bigger splined hub was then sold to bolt on over the wore out one. It being larger and bigger splines worked much better and lasted longer. That was about the mid "80's so NIW is correct, finding one would be a miracle.

Cheers, very helpful. I have various thoughts. Basically I would like to mow and spray my vineyard at same time to half the number of passes.
I have a mmm from my st30 which is pretty good and I though I could easily make a bracket which is a cut down loader arm with a few lengths of 2x2 to support it, have quick attach loader, to have an outfront mower. I don’t normally need to raise the mower 8 ft off the ground when not in use…
I have a rear mount mower with arms to go between rows which is fine, also have rear mount flail.
However I need to do a 180 between rows in tight headlands so reducing trailing length good.
Plus I’ve set the wheels at 52” to outside to fit between rows (7 ft wire spacing, wheel arches coming off) and am on a slope so want to keep weight low.
Am thinking of having a belly tank for sprayer (has 14” of ground clearance, flat land could get away with 6” then have 700lb of weight 6” off ground in middle not up high on back when turning).
So using front pto to drive a sprayer pump would be very useful. Sprayer takes minimal power.
Another possibility is an extra hydraulic pump, some hydraulic cutter decks could be mounted.
Plan is to make into a semi-dedicated vineyard mower/sprayer.

You would have to fabricate just about everything, but it sounds like you know that already.
Getting the needed parts in the UK for the drive off the front of the engine is going to be your biggest task.
You could get or make a custom love joy connector for the front of the engine.

Be sure of the rotation of mower blades. With the belly mower on the B8200 the elec clutch set in a metal box (mounted to the front of the tractor frame) with a pulley that went down a few inches around 3-4" dia. pulley and back to the mower deck. The belts had to cross over between the small pulleys and the mower deck.

Treating an orchard or vinyard with a moving sprayer uses calibrated delivery of expen$ive materials. Mowing simultaneously will likely not be productive, even on flat ground. Either the mowing or spraying will need to be revisited for correction. I once thought that having two mowers mounted at once would save time, with a rear rotary and a side sicklebar. Nope. Way to clumsy and busy. My advice would be to set up for one job, and detach/attach for the other.
