B5100E noisy hydraulics

When the three point lift gets to the top of its travel there's a loud squeal, like a cat in a blender. Is this normal? It has always done it. I was thinking maybe it is time to change the trans oil and clean the filter as soon as I can find an affordable equivalent to the Kubota UDT stuff.

It's the fluid by-passing, the 3pt is at the top of it's travel range. It should have a feed back rod on the right side under the seat that you can adjust. My 7100 did the same thing.

My B6100E has done it since the day I got it and I've had it 10 years. I think the squeeling is the relief valve on the hydraulics.

Thanks gentlemen. Then there's nothing to worry about. Apart from the noise I don't get any hassle from my B5100 and it does a good days work for me and barely sniffs at the diesel. I will still treat it to an oil change.

Do as Bulldog said and adjust the feedback rod and the noise will stop unless you are trying to lift a very heavy load on the 3 point hitch.

The easy way to do it is to stand beside the tractor, raise and lower the 3pt so you can see how it works on the rod. It should have a small stop that you can loosen up and slide it on the rod. It's a simple process but if you don't watch how it works it's real easy to adjust it the wrong way. If you don't know where the rod is just follow the 3pt handle down under the seat and you will find the rod. Let us know how it works out.

I understand it now. I can adjust the upper limit little by little until it reaches the stopping point without squealing. Thanks for all the help.
