How did it get there? Distracted or intoxicated driving. Most likely.

Per news article: Two occupants. Neither injured.
Based on that, severity of impact, and nature of wreck; guessing both were very relaxed throughout the incident and did not brace at all for impact (i.e. drunk/stoned). “Lack of injury” could also be impacted by the occupants preferring to not immediately go to the ER where they’re likely to be blood tested for various drugs before given even basic meds such as muscle relaxants and pain meds.
Removal: The car is totaled anyway. Throw a J hook on the left rear suspension and pull until most or all of the car pops out. If that isn’t going well, cut the tree in the back.

Passenger: "Bro, don't you remember? Deputy Barney Fife or whatev his name is, cut us some slack cuz of, well, he's seeing your mom".
Driver "Oh, cool. Where's the stash"?
