My tractor will idle down when at operating rpm and then rev back up. It will do this about five times then go dead and won’t start for approx 30–45 minutes. I did install a battery disconnect to prevent the battery from draining when not in use for a period of time. Any ideas what the problem is? It’s a 2015 L3560

Do not routinely disconnect the battery on any machine with an ECM.

Rather, connect a quality battery maintainer (not trickle charger) when unused for extended periods of time.

When did this start? Can you give a little more history about this tractor?

Was anything recently done to tractor? Fuel filter replaced? Etc....

What would you do when need to replace the battery? Or if ever pull it to charge? Etc.

I’m going to look in my WSM. That’s an interesting question that we all should understand.

Or even if want to put a battery tender pig tail on…one way or another over several years of ownership many would need to disconnect the battery, even if working on something and maybe want the battery disconnected…anyway what’s correct thing to do?

Occasionally is one thing.

Routinely is quite another.

Yeah - kinda like I will be ready in a "couple" of minutes............ Translate when talking to my wife, she means - 1 hour!!

Kinda like - I want "several" of those, does several mean 3 or 33????

Funny how words we use really do NOT mean what they were intended to mean!

Yes battery disconnects on these tractors can be very problematic, disconnecting an reconnecting the battery has been know to spike the ECM and kill it.

Your issue sounds to be fuel related, when was the last time you drained the water, or replaced the fuel filter?

As opposed to a similar Chinese made battery maintainer with a different name?
Certainly true,......but US company monitoring of Chinese product quality is the name of the game.
Some do....some don't

FYI; A few = 4; Several = 7 to 9; A bunch = 10 to 15; A goob = more than 15 to 20; Uddles = 20 or more. ;)

Wagging ( way above my grade or wild ass guessing as you choose) but to avoid stacking we've always programed our trucks to periodically rev up after idling more than 15 minutes. Is it possible your tractor has been likewise programed and program has somehow developed a problem? Most likely fuel delivery problem.
I don't think it's battery related but if you are concerned about battery losing charge during storage I'd opt for a maintainer.
BTW quality maintainer = Battery Tender by Deltran

True, but I have seen a big quality improvement in HF products in the past 5 years. They still have some sketchy stuff, but I’ve been happy with a lot of their current products.

I would not buy any electrical item from HF that is for unattended use!

I did use a HF battery maintainer last winter and it worked well. Bought a HLVP spray gun this past summer and it worked well also. But mostly I buy rubber gloves, tool bags, drill bits, ect…

You have completely missed my point about HF unattended electrical items.
Your 110V unattended HF battery maintainer is something I would specifically not trust.
