I have an opportunity to pickup a used Bush Hog 50-06 rear blade for a good price but it is listed as being designed for a 4WD max horsepower of 40 but I have 48. Is this implement a light-duty one that is likely to get bent up or am I likely to be OK?

Thanks

It all depends on what type of operator you are. If you think you have the weight and torque of a heavy machine and operate that way 100% of the time, you ought to pass. Otherwise you'd be fine, but I thought the "50' meant it was rated for 50 HP tractors.

It may…Upon further investigation the 40 HP max was listed as the PTO HP…so very close to 50hp at the flywheel.

Blade is Rated at 50hp at PTO you have 40hp at PTO, you will have no issue with the rear blade.

I’m not sure why Bush Hog use PTO hp as we all know a rear blade has no PTO connection!
