I have a brand new L6060 with cab and loader. I took delivery with the 3rd function hydraulics on backorder, intending to do the install myself. Well, today is the day, and it turns out some idiot at the dealer or factory installed the subframes on the wrong sides. Can I simply swap them? Are they under load just sitting there? Dont want to open up a can of worms in my driveway with less than 4 hours of daylight left.

Unless you have lots of time and space (and knowledge) to disassemble, I would take it back to the dealership. Let them correct it. For the inconvenience, tell them to install the 3rd function.

Dealer is 3 hours and $200 in tolls away. Not worth it for me to bring back. Its either do it now or fight with them on Monday to send a mechanic to fix the problem, and today is 60 degrees in New York, dont see many more of these in my future.

The subframes seem to simply bolt to the bottom of the loader mount(which is bolted on to the frame already) and back to the rear axle. 3 bolts up front, 2 in the rear, easy peasy as long as these things are not under load.

I had to replace 2 of the 3 front bolts to mount the guard anyway, did the 3rd bolt hold the load while i did this, or is there no load?

"I'm not" familiar with your tractor to say. It sounds like you have options, as you have mechanical knowledge, and I don't want sound "dumb" in response.

Seems you have already looked over the issue enough to evaluate the task of R&R..(flipping?) the subframe to correct it. If you don't do it yourself, you wait.

It boils down to you, patience waiting, or getting greasy and getting it done.

You might contact the dealership and ask if you do it yourself, would that void the warranty in any way. Go from there.

If you remove the loader from the tractor then there is nothing to put any load on the subframe. There may be some residual stress in the subframe that will make it move as you loosen the bolts and gravity will make it fall so use some wooden blocks to hold it up until you can lower it down.

You may have to use some jacks to get it back up and blocked into place.

Just be careful with the weight and don’t get hurt by weight or something falling on you or into your eyes.

Are you talking about 010 and 060 in the image below? I see no reason if the bucket is on the ground that there would be any tension on the sub-frames. Swab them and I would toque that bolts back down.

From the diagram shown above it appears both sides are the same except for the two small brackets on the right side that appear to be attached with bolts. Might be able to remove the brackets and install on other side.

from the diagram, it looks like #060 has 'something' on the outside compared to #010 (where the #010 label is), so I can see why they need to be swapped.
I don't see any 'loading' issue as loader frame is firmly bolted to frame.
So, go grab a fistful of wrenches, crawl underneath and get 'er dun !

Yes, those things on 060 are what the 3rd function valve bolt onto. It like a bar thats welded on with threaded holes in it. On my tractor, 060 was installed the left, and 010 on the right. I decided to loosen all the bolts first to make sure there was no load, which there wasnt, and I was easily able to swap them out.

Once done, the rest of the install went pretty quick except for the fact the stupid little button that turns on/off the 3rd function fell apart during install, so I'll be sure to bitch the dealer out about the subframe on Monday when I call to make them send me new parts

There’s nothing like having to “fix” the work done by a “professional” that you already paid to do it correctly. Way too much of that.

You will be lucky if the dealer actually apologizes as oppose to acting like you personally are the problem. But maybe you have a good dealer.

Next time this happens to me, I just might send them an invoice from the farm for a $200/hr shop rate, incidentals and corporate activity tax, just like they’d do for me. A quick little mechanics lien might even get their attention if they think it’s a joke.

This is why I do all the service I can do myself on all my equipment. At least I know who to blame when it’s wrong and he won’t lie to me about it later.

Good on you fo installing the 3rd function kit yourself. Now it will look like someone that cared did it as opposed to someone that had 1.33 shop hours to throw it on.

If the dealer installed 060 on the left and 010 on the right, then they did it correctly according to the diagram that has been attached. It may not be what it needs to be for your 3rd function, but they were following the diagram for proper setup. So in reality, they did it correctly if the setup person was following the diagram.

Not to argue, but I think you are reading the diagram wrong. If you were sitting in the seat facing forward, 060 is on the right and 010 is on the left.

I have had mine off. No issue at all. I think 060 has welded on brackets for the 3rd function kit.

Is the "emergency" now over and the tractor back together correctly? Did you complete the installation of the 3rd function valve without any other issues cropping up? When will we see pictures of the finished project? thanks, and inquiring minds need to know. :)

I should have the new switch(button) today I believe. I'll take some pictures when I swap it out and share them.

You could live a little and back the bolts off a bit, if the subframes losen up up, they probably aren't under tension. Also as others mentioned, serious LOL at "Emergency"
