Thanks for all that weighed in on "wolf or coyote" !

I thought I would give a bit more context. These two critters were taken from the same camera, same location standing in about the same spot. Actually videos but screen shot. The smaller on the 13th of Nov, the larger on the 29th.

I added a horizontal blue line at the the high spot of the rear haunch.

His legs look much thicker too.

Never shot a wolf, but I had them come into bait sites when I was Spring bear hunting in Manitoba. I had a pair of them once come within 20yds of me, damn things were the size of great danes almost. Beautiful coats on them. In the area I hunted, only tags were given in the Fall season.

Very nice! I have been looking at the PT 2 XP50 Pro.

I bought my XP a couple months before the Pro came out. After looking though my scope, my friend bought the Pro. It does have its advantages!

Now, there is an XL50 which is 1024 versus the 640 resolution of the XP's. But, it is $8k versus $5k although it comes with a laser range finder.

5k is hard enough to chew, can't swing the XL50, lol. Tomorrow, I'm going South of town, huge gun shop(middle of no where kinda for its size, like a dollar general store) few miles South. Gonna see what they have, they usually have internet/good prices.

No sir I have to go along with wolfman,,, that aint no yote,, at least not around here, a big male runs maybe 55 pounds and female 35 to 40 pounds and they walk in a streight line like a fox ,or so I have been told

So that YOU can't make a funny meme of a close up shot of us, lol and it's forever stuck on the webs. I might run for president one day, maybe more likly a county commissioner position, IDK or just stay retired and I'm not even 50 yet. I'm not sure what my next adventure might be. I recently added hoe operator or rock truck driver for Tony Beets or Parker on my bucket list, LOL

I like your view! Do you manage your land primarily for deer or are you into other habitat restoration/creation? It looks as if you do have some native grasslands?

When I bought the place, it was overgrown with trees, mainly Cedar, Hedge, Locust. With the help of the NRCS, I have removed some of the trees & will return the cleared areas back to prairie grassland. This serves a dual purpose. The creek bottom area (about 62 acres) is for the deer, turkey, quail, …… I planted 3 food plots that are about 6-7 acres total. There is a 120 acre brome field that HAD to many volunteer trees, which is cut for hay & 60 acre native grass, that HAD to many volunteer trees, used to graze cattle.
I lease out the brome & native grass, making a few dollars. The creek bottom area is my project. It is working. The deer are holding more weight & larger antlers. I do my part, but the drought over the last 2 years has made it difficult.

Friend of mine shot one of my mgt bucks yesterday. Meat in his freezer.
Other types of animals were slaughtered, but pics are not PG enough for you guys according to the OTT guidelines. lol

Yes, 308 AR 10, and it's technically 33% less lethal than an AR 15, lol

Zeroed it in at 100yds. the day before. The barrel really needs more rounds through it, IMO. So far it hits 2in low at 50yds, And 1.5in high at 150yds.

If it was mine, I would have zeroed it in at 200.

I would not have guessed that .308 would be less lethal then .223. Please explain.

Mom & the twins have been regulars in the food plots. Looks like a buck & doe fawn. I have another set as well. My coyote eradication program is working.

Sounds like you have a fantastic property and doing great things!

I love the darker chocolate color antlers of this handsome buck! I am not sure why but the majority of bucks in the Central Sands region of Wi sport real light colored antlers. Not sure if its diet or?
