The thru-tube is a lacking feature of the BX series, that I wish it had!Be handy for small parts, tools, etc. because of the tray design.
Probably not needed for just chain storage. That can be accomplished with pipe plugs. I use that area to store a 20' x 5/16" chain and a 12' x 1/4" chain.
About $20.00 for a pair.

Looks handy…I looked up after seeing your post…less than free….that would be much better than an ugly sweater at Christmas IMO if any of you are looking for gift ideas of what to get me this year.
It does seem kind of high for what you are getting. But Kubota is buying them from the manufacture and they have to get their cut before you get them.I'd buy them but $165 (for LA525) seems really, really high for two plastic parts.
IMHO it is a..... total rip-off!I'd buy them but $165 (for LA525) seems really, really high for two plastic parts.
Mod it.Damn.
That's a handy storage space.
Too bad my tiny tractor doesn't have it.
They are held in with magnetsso how does the $$$$ holder STAY in ???

I use plumbers "Oatey" pressure test plugs for 4" sked 80 PVC pipe (scrap).
The 4" fully expanded "Oatey plug diameter is a bit too small for a tight fit in my 4-1/2" Kubota tubes, so I cut short nipples of 4" sked 80 PVC pipe, and force them into the loader tubes first.
Then the "Oatey" test plugs go into the 4" sked 80 PVC.
I do this for the under loader pipe, as well as the pipe used on the loader itself.
Lots of space for long chain, and tool storage, (hammer, wrenches, crow bar, etc.) on my L48 TLB.
4 test plugs needed (for the 2 long storage tubes).
(Lowe's?) cost for 2 pairs of "Oatey" test plugs @ $9 each = $36 total.
Kubota part # 77700-13408 price is $165.82 per pair.
Kubota 2 pairs total cost = $331.64
$36 v/s $331.62..... is a no brainer for me!
The Oatey test plugs do come in several different (diameters) sizes.Fried,
I am going to measure mine up today.
Please consider your idea officially "stolen".
If you get it figured out, post it here to speed up my stealing it from you!Fried,
