All leading back to

You can't drain the pressure in the lines with the tractor running.
You have to wait until it's turned off.

I am going to give this one more try.

First thing you need to understand is that statement is not true.

Next thing you need to understand is the reason that statement is not true is because your loader, third function, and backhoe valves are not 100% pressure tight. In fact they all leak pressure and fluid. Also note I said pressure and fluid - they are not the same thing.

Stop right here and think with an open mind for just one moment - what the hell is he getting at?

Here is what I am getting at. When you pull your tractor into the shed, lower all of the raised bits to the ground and put all of the spools in neutral even with the engine running the residual pressure in each and every one of the works circuits immediately starts to bleed off to tank, The route is backwards through the less than perfect sealing surfaces of the spools in the control valves, more specifically A,B->T.

Think about that. Its an observable fact and I posted a video demonstrating that pressure drop. Watch the video. Even with the engine running it happens quite rapidly to begin with and slows to a crawl as the residual pressure drops. It will not stop until tank and cylinder pressure is equal. That is Physics 101.

So with your tractor parked and ldling just lower everything to the ground like you have been describing. No need to extend or retract anything. Once everything is sitting solidly on the ground just shut the engine off and go away. Mother Nature will finish the work of relieving residual pressure for you. Jiggling the levers after you shut it off will accelerate the process but its going to happen in a matter of minutes even if if you don't.

Fair enough.
You're right, I didn't think the whole thing through.
I'll have to take a closer look when I have a minute.

For the record, I can't drop my backhoe stabilizers or bucket while the engine is running.
Don't have the space.
