A guard like this?I'm honestly surprised no one has made a "guard" to protect them. Kubota Engineers have some pretty wonky designs. Why they would not make the cylinder shafts and tie-rods, inline and line-up, is dumb.

I was thinking more along the lines, covering from where the tie-rod connects to the hub< >to behind the boots, but the cover protecting the cylinder is a plus.A guard like this?

You mean something like this?I wrapped mine with old inner-tube and secured it with safety-wire wrapped around the ends holding it closed, leaving the exit of the rubber-wrap facing down so as to not catch junk and water. Been great for 5 years now. Cost: Zip ( old inner tube, remember?)
