Just curious how many 2501/2502 owners we have here? I dang near pulled the trigger on a Grand L but I just couldn't get past the thought of emissions and lots of electronics, so I made the decision that I would make the 2502 work for my needs. I have to say that I couldn't be any more happier with my decision. I absolutely love my L2502! So far I have purchased the forks and box blade for my tractor but plan to add a grapple soon. I think the 2502 is the perfect sized tractor for my 20 acres and does all that I ask of it.

So, who here owns the 2501/2502?

Only question I have with a new year model engine, how well it will hold up over time. The engine is different from the L2501 which was a de-tuned higher HP engine. Does the L2502 still have "computer" stuff on it?

I'm totally happy with my old school L2800 for my 28 acres, I love the size (same as all the standard L's).

Congrats on the purchase of your L2502!

L2501 owner here , purchased fall of 2019. I lucked out with the timing and avoided the price increases and supply issues.

I put mine to work on 56 acres of developing oak savanna habitat work. Lots of grapple work, regular rotary cutter work, maintaining trails and maintenance mowing the native species plantings. A few pond digging projects with the bucket. The grapple sits on the loader 75% of the time.

Price and lack of extra emissions and electronic controls drove my decision when I purchased it.

I rarely, if ever, use the split brakes so the relocation to the left hand side on the L2502 is not an issue for me. My biggest complaint, which I knew going in, with my L2501 is the economy seat which I believe has been addressed on your L2502.

Other than the BX series I think the Standard L series is one of Kubota's biggest sellers?

Side note:
I think a thread like this should include a picture of your L2501/L2502 out doing what they do best! :). This one includes not only my tractor at one of my favorite spots on my land, but also my box blind. Have great memories in that blind in the short 4 years after building it.

I love mine too.

I did consider a bigger one, but like you, the emissions BS scared me off.

I was gonna get a BX but @hagrid said that they are only 'toy tractors'. ;)

Same engine with few differences such as the fuel pump is different. No electronics/emissions/computer crap on the 2502 engine. It's a basic old skool diesel..

I test drove the 2501 and the 2502 and the brakes being on the left side is a huge improvement, even if it's just for extra space for the treadle area. My foot felt cramped on the 2501 with all of that being crammed together. And yes, the 2502 has the suspension seat which is amazing.. I spend most of my time in the woods where it's really bumpy so the seat makes for a nice comfortable ride. But there are also a couple more nice things I enjoy about the 2502 like the electric PTO switch, grab handles on both sides, and the seat arm rests. Lovin this tractor!

I don't have a grapple yet but plan to buy one. I have been planning to order the 3rd function and rear remote kit this week so I can get it installed and ready for a grapple. That is definitely something I would use a lot!

Having just bought my new place, I didn't have the time to build a blind in time for deer season. This coming summer though, I will build 2-3 blinds around the [property so they're ready for next season. I'm just happy to have some big bucks runnin the place!

Is this actually documented? Just curious, as I will not be buying a new tractor anytime soon. What I have works fine...

The L2502 has the D1703BM-DI-EF04 engine and the 2501 has the D1703-M-DI-E4B. So they are the same engine but from what I have gathered, there are some differences between the two. They definitely have different fuel pumps. I have been tryin to figure out what the EF04 and E4B means but the best I can tell is it's related to the emissions output of each engine.
