Does anyone know the what improvements the OEM Kubota Super UDT2
has over the Kubota regular Super UDT fluids.

Also, does anyone know the torque specs of the oil and transmission plug on the
Kubota RTV 900

thanks,
two guns

Two Guns, finding real info about SUDT2 fluid was a chore. Nothing is out there and I found out why. Kubota hasn't released that info to the public yet. I did find that it's 75% synthetic but as far as actual specs go there is nothing to be found. I'm sure it will perform better than any of the other UDT fluid though. Seeing that you are in the swamps this may be interesting to you. It's listed the have superior performance for water tolerance.

Sorry not to be more help. I do agree with Hodge though, your thumbnail is killer.

Yes Sir, I love the stuff. I try to support American companies when ever I can. 100% synthetic lubricant do not require oil from overseas and the company was founded by a USAF Vet. That's a win win win in my book.

I like your reply..... Thanks !
Fixing to change oil in my Kubota RTV, and plans are to go back Amsoil
Premium API CJ-4 Synthetic 15W-40 Diesel Oil.
Also, changing the Hydro-Transmission fluid and filter. Going back with
Kubota Super UDT2, and OEM filters on the transmission.

I did find some info on the UDT/2 fluids.
The viscosity index on the Kubota Super UDT is 192
The Viscosity Index on the Kubota Super UDT/2 is 199

Amsoil Synthetic Tractor Hydraulic / Trans Fluid
5W-30 has a Viscosity Index of 170

Running Amsoil in all my vehicles, trucks, cars, Jeep, motorcycles, and other equipment
around the place.... I am satisfied with this oil .....

Post Script //// Does this site have a Kubota RTV section ?

I have used Amsoil products for close to 20 yrs now. I didn't just blindly switch I tested each product against what I was using at the time. Amsoil beat what I formerly used hands down. I would like to make a suggestion to you though. Even though it's a little higher I would recommend the 5w30 HDD (Heavy Duty Diesel) for your engine. I have tried all their diesel oils and the HDD will gain enough in fuel economy to more than make up the difference in the price. Not saying the 15w40 won't do the job but a RTV doesn't really need a oil that heavy. No matter which one you use your RTV will love you for it.

I don't know if you have ever used any of the Amsoil tractor trans/hyd fluid but it works great. I have never tried the SUDT2 so I can't compair to it but the SUDT doesn't come close to what the Amsoil does. That may be a little out of line but I could tell a diffence between the 2. In the winter the hyd system operates just like it does during the summer. I have seen up to a 70 degree temp drop doing certain jobs in the summer. I collected the data using a IR temp gun.

I would say you will be going a step in the right direction sticking with a premium hyd fluid. I know that premium fluid cost way more to use but I believe a solid well planned PM program will save thousands in repair cost down the road.

I know this is a after thought now but glad to have you here at OTT. Maybe we can help again in the future.

I will take your suggestion and go with the 5W30HDD !!!!
Never used any Amsoil tractor fluids. But willing to try it.
So far, EVERYTHING I've used in the Amsoil line, has served me well.

Reason I was considering going back with the Super UDT2, was that the viscosity was higher on the Kubota fluids.

I think you will really like the HDD engine oil.

As far as the hyd fluid goes. The Amsoil for sure won't hurt anything to try it out and I believe you will see a positive improvement in the way your transmission and steering acts. Keep us posted, I'll be curious to hear your thoughts after the change.

Just might have to wait until the next fluid change on the Amsoil Hyd fluid.
I have just walked into my shop, and found two brand new gallons of
Super UDT & filters. Forgot I purchased it last year.

You have me wanting to go ahead with the Amsoil ............ if you can tell that much difference.

I know what you mean about the fluid. I have several 5 gal buckets of regular hyd fluid that I'm saving for hard times or something. I figured worst come to worst I could use it in case I blow a line or something like that. I wouldn't blame you for using fluid you've already bought. But as long as you keep it out of the sunlight it won't go bad either.

Honestly, even as smooth as a new Kubota is I could tell a difference after I installed Amsoil. The noise level went down on everything and every function on the tractor was smoother than before.

I imagine you meant "VISCOSITY INDEX was higher"..., viscosity and viscosity index are different measures of oils characteristics...

Two guns, not a great ammount of RTV talk goes on which surprises me because I see them everywhere. I would love to have one myself but just can't pull the trigger on one. I'll leave it on my want list but it's no where near the top.

I always thought the UDT was a synthetic mix and the SUDT was pure synthetic. Don't know if that came to me in a dream or what.
