Warm greetings from the tropical islands of Fiji.
Amidst the usual challenges with maintaining a very rugged machine in a country far far away, i have a new challenge on which i seek your humble and knowledged advise.
Recently i noticed a bit of diesel knocking and white smoke especially after a couple of hours of operation. to my dismay, my 80s version L2850DT comes with a V1702DI which has a pencil type injector. Having tried all possible local suppliers, i failed to acquire an OEM replacement from any of my local sources. searching online leads to various sources, of which majority is from the land of the cheap replacements (China).
Whilst im inclined to replace with OEM parts, im curious to know and would greatly appreciate some insight from those who have tried the Chinese replacement ones. In the interim, im having a diesel shop work on the current set as i need to get my unit in operation (at least for light duty not exceeding 2 hours of work in a week)
thank you for your time and input.

Cheers

The Chinese injectors are a roll of the dice, some good some bad.
Buy twice as many as you need and hope you get one good set out of them.
