I'm upgrading from a Hobart Handler 120 so this is going to be fantastic. The Aluminum Spool Gun is on my list to get. I just can't justify the costs to have things done these days. They are outta my budget.

Very nice and a great price for sure! I have a Millermatic 185 that I bought at least 20 years ago and it's still going strong. I've gone through two liners, hundreds of pounds of wire, goodness knows how many bottles of gas. I have the aluminum spool gun for it too.

A few years ago I bought a Lincoln Square Wave TIG 200 for TIG and stick and it's very good. I'll be using it to weld up a bunch of pipe soon as part of my barn builds. As some point I'd like to buy a more powerful stick machine.

Not sure about anyone else here but I really enjoy welding. It was a good career for 15 years and one in which I never stopped learning. Once I started a new career I continued to weld and still enjoy it to this day. I do wonder what years of welding, prior to the advent of respirators, has done to me. Last night I watched a fascinating video on YouTube from a Northern Irish welder. He's in the middle of repairing a rock crusher jaw that weighs 10 tons or more.

@Trimley, don't get too attached to the bottle of gas unless you want to pay for inspections and wait around for it to be filled. I'm in the exchange program and let the local gas supply deal with the certification stuff. I only say that because I see @Flintknapper has a color-matched gas bottle.

I've been using a 215 Multimatic daily for 6 years, now. It's been flawless.

I know. I already had two bottles. I got another with the 211. I own them, so no charge if I have the bottle for........years.

I'm on my second 211, I had an earlier model I bought about 15 years ago, I think, and when the new smaller version came out, I sold the older one to a friend and bought the newer model like you have.
Great machine, I use mine a lot. I have the spool gun, but haven't tried welding aluminum yet.

Right on. I have a few friends who use the 211 in the commercial application. They both rated them highly suggested. New, I could not justify when I was looking, no matter. This one popped up while scrolling the local marketplace. He listed it at $1800. I got it for $1300. It pays to be polite and not like a lowballer where they get insulted, which has happened to me on several things I've wanted to buy. I got lucky.
