Mouse trouble

I have a B2650 and the mice moved into the space between the head liner and the roof.
I got the mess cleaned out but can not get rid of the smell.
I am looking to replace the head liner.
I tried to find it in Messicks parts listing but had no luck.
Any help would be great finding the part number.
Doesn't look to hard to change.

Found about 3 pounds of seats stashed in there
Any suggestions how to keep the mice away??

If you have a good detail shop in your area it may be worth checking to see if they can help with mouse urine odor. It’s a protein based odor so, as noted in a prior post, ozone is quite effective at combatting it. There are also liquid spray type cleaners formulated to attach to protein odor molecules effectively deodorizing. The issue with true ozone (O3) is your lungs can’t process it so it’s pretty easy to get in trouble using it in a non-professional home setting. Which is why a good detail shop can very likely take care of it for not a lot of $ but it’s really hard to get an acceptable result in a do it yourself effort.

Other than cost, replacing the headliner will certainly help but there’s a lot of other stuff in the cab so it’s unlikely to fully address the issue.

Also, if you have insurance on it, check with your carrier. Some types of insurance cover rodent damage. Some doesn’t. Probably worth a phone call to find out if you haven’t checked already.

I use Grandpa Gus pouches, and pouring a gallon or so of Ammonia (check the dollar stores, it's cheap) around my storage area before winter, and keeping wild owl habitat local, and basic mouse traps and a multiple mouse - mouse trap. (They eat each other).
No problems yet, knock on wood.

But a barn cat, or even keeping the local stray cats hungry and around is probably much much better.

Of course the wild owls in my forest eat the cats too.

Try OdoBan, and Lysol for the rodent stink.

oo, ooh - pick me! I just got a 30K mile, 58Y-old survivor car this month from an estate that had been in storage & off the road for a very long time. Totally original, but the damn mice ate into the headliner behind the sunvisor & used the heater ducts, engine compartment & trunk as their playground.

Horrible, horrible smell! Vacumed, wiped, washed/cleaned every surface combined with 2X HD fabric Febreze with OK, but limited success.

I bought a commercial-level output ozone generator from Amazon and it was like a magic wand - I re-treated for a slight residual odor a couple of times but overall it was an AMAZING success.

EDIT - Note to OP, I did not replace the headliner (yet) or any carpet, seat etc. Totally worth a try for your case. I hate the mice. They got my Jeep soft-top a few years ago.

I had a big mouse issue before I really sealed all of the spots in the shop they could get in. Now I have a couple of small air gaps in the garage door corners..and I have traps right inside them. I probably killed 30 just in 2022 before I sealed it up. Not one killed since, no poop. I would recommend traps with no bait (not needed just put in the path they poop they will step on it). A cat also a great idea.

Just last week, I stuck a pill bottle (drilled holes in it) filled with cotton balls doused with peppermint oil in the engine bay of the mini. I hope it works. I may put one in the cab too.

Use mouse poison......"place packs".
Stuff several in likely mouse areas.
Just leave them there.

I've had limited success using poison and sticky traps for mice/rats in the barn and outbuildings. Would catch some....but there were always others waiting to take their place.

Then we got a Calico Cat and She is a mouse killing machine! NONE and I mean NONE in my buildings anymore. NO more chewed up wiring on vehicles and equipment.

Barn cat is the best solution IMO.

Yep. We have 10 or so salt shakers we use for the RV over the winter. Only winter we had mice was the winter we didn't go back in after 2 months to refresh the peppermint oil.
