Bucket ED ……. My L724 loader on a L3240 HST has a bucket gone limp.

The main boom still raises and lowers the primary loader arms, but also raises a bit slower than normal. The issue started when I removed the loader on uneven ground. I had a lot of trouble getting it back onto the tractor and that is when the bucket tilt failed. I have double cleaned the four quick disconnects and they all clicked into place securely.

i checked the hydraulic fluid level and it was very low. Not sure why, no leaks could be found. I added around 3+gallons of UDT to get the stick to read full. But the bucket still hangs with no response. Did I get air into those bucket trim rams? Everother hydraulic ran item works fine. But the bucket can be gently back dragged to the level position on the ground but when I raise the main boom the bucket falls to the dump position, hence limp. No response with a side to side stick movement, maybe a tiny bit of movement.

Any other places to trouble shoot besides those quick connects?

What is the color key (red, blue, white, yellow) of the hose quick disconnects, i.e., their operational direction? Mine is obscured by a cover loom, making tracing them out impossible.

Numerous replies suggest that the lines are crossed up, or ports reversed. But I double checked those four loader fittings and they are fool proof with those color coded dust caps to insure the right connections. See photos.
Besides, if ports were crossed I would still have four functions just the stick motions would be directing the wrong loader functions. I only have two loader functions, not four.

I will try swapping some lines at the quick disconnect junctions to see what works and does not work.

There is a slight start of the bucket curl from the stick. But not much activity.

Your loader has a regenerstive spool on the bucket. It provides for fast dump. If you cross the bucket ports it will extend no matter which direction you move the lever. It will eventuslly reach end of stroke and be stuck there.

Take the hoses loose and put them in a bucket. Start the tractor and check for oil flow both directions.

Yes. Take the two bucket hoses connected to the valve loose at the cylinder end and put them in a bucket. Start the tractor and check for flow when you operate thev loader valve.

No. If they are hooked up right they shpuld work. Disconnect the hoses and observe the glow. It should tell you a lot.

Thanks! It is dark now so I will get on it tomorrow morning dark thirty. I chain bindered the floppy bucket up and put in a rugged mountain slope food plot.

You really need to read my post, your problem is you don't have one of the quick disconnects seated.
It's not connected that why it's not working!

OP, this is your problem. I noticed the red line isn’t seated properly, prior to reading NIW’s responses.

Had this happen once on my L3830 (the GL series just prior to yours).

Also, those quick couplings (female end) are pretty dirty. You probably ought to clean them up real good. Good chance there is some debris between the sliding sliding collars.

And they aren’t clean either. At least not in the posted photos wherein it was apparent the red line wasn’t connected.
