I have a new MX6000. I was mowing hay and the cruise control kicked in unknown to how I did this. I brought the handle all the way up and the tractor still would not stop. I cut the power to the lowest point and finally got the tractor in neutral. Then I got the PTO cut off I put it in gear again and same problem that the cruise is back on and unable to stop tractor. Again put in neutral and turned off tractor. Now it will not crank. Any suggestions on how to get it to start?

Wow, I have the same tractor and don’t understand how cruise control could automatically engage. It’s a simple mechanical lever that hold the HST pedal down depending on how far you move the lever. I’m wondering if your HST range lever is actually in a neutral setting and that’s why it won’t start. If you’re sure the cruise control lever wasn’t activated, I would guess that the dealer needs to adjust linkages.

The only time I tried the cruise I had trouble getting it to slow down. I have not tried since then. I am sure I must have moved the lever. Nothing like mowing in very thick brush on a side of a hill and all the sudden going very fast and not being able to brake. Realized it was cruise and moved the lever in the off position but I still did not slow down. I will take my tractor in for service if I can get cranked. If not a service call. I really appreciate all of your replies. Very scary situation since I am new to cutting hay.
