Rocketmen work with rockets with a million pounds of thrust. A 500 HP car isn't even a thought. My brother is an aerospace engineer and he's always driven itty bitty gutless cars. Mazda Miata, Triumph Spitfire, Chevy Spark. He graduated to a Tesla.

I ran autocross with a modified Saab Sonnett (65hp to ~120hp) in the 70's. Because it was modified I ran in the unlimited mod class against SS396's, Corvettes, etc. Never lost to one of the big hp cars. Did lose to a Lotus Super 7 every time he showed up tho.
That said I now have a modified Subaru STI (400+ hp) and I can not do the lap times that my son turns in his unmodded motor Miata (~115hp) at tracks like Summit Point, WV and VIR (VA).

Well not with that attitude. Clearly you just need more hp. Handling and turn speed don't matter when you can do 200+ on the straights.
