Hi everybody. 1st post I usually just read but I have a L4701HST with around 280 hrs on it and I busted the radiator on a stump a couple of days ago. Kubota wants $800 for a new one and all the aftermarket sites seem to have one for every model except mine for $150-$200. Anybody know where I might can find one? Thanks in advance

Back when radiators where made of copper and brass repair shops where fairly common. I still have one about a half hour away. He now caters to older equipment. I'm sure any shop like that could repair, rebuild or make a new one. I don't know if it would be less expensive?

I saw a radiator on Ebay with that part number and it was like $1600. I know the guy I take radiators could put one together for WAY less than that.

If you have a radiator repair shop nearby take you injured one to them and see what they say.

Hey guys thanks for the tips. Repair isn't gonna be an option and the website says they're in stock but of course when you call to order it they're out of stock

No it was a website that sells reconditioned ones for about 1/2 price. I love Messicks I just hate to pay $800 for a radiator
All State Ag Parts (Tractor Parts ASAP) runs a salvage operation in addition to their new parts business. Used parts availability is "CAll TO CHECK" and as you found out they often don't have the part you found online.

I have resigned myself to paying inflated prices for parts that are dealer only....

Just my 2 cents, and that's probably all it's worth, but it is a $35k tractor, $800 seems cheap to guarantee fit and quality.

What else is/was damaged before it hit the radiator? Could it have been prevented? Do you have a brush guard?
Couldn’t hurt to ask your local dealer if you could get a discount if bought from them. Worst they can say is no.

A big piece of root acactually opted up from the underside and busted the plastic bottom. Just a freak accident. You're absolutely right. It can't hurt to ask
