Possibly a collapsing/spongy/swelled fuel hose?

Not the same thing........But at about 200K I did the front brakes on my truck. They were grinding about 12K later.

Long story short, the "rubber" brake hose was swelled up inside and would not properly release the caliper.

Replaced both hoses and WaaLaa.....back in business.

it just seemed like one long huge paragraph, often repeating keypoints or words typical of a spam posting and was posted a year after the last entry by a new member with a B32S

I'd think a new member would start his own thread, perhaps pointing out he'd done al the fuel related tests before focussing on the OPC

hopefully he FINDS the source of the problem. Bench testing the OPC will confirm or eliminate it . The seat switch might be the problem ??

I know we are wandering off topic but I want to add to this. Since you are in a salt state, the steel brackets holding the brake hose rust and pinch off the hose. BTDT in rusty PA.

When my BX23S did the 'shuttering and die', the culprit was a tiny sliver of black plastic IN the outlet spigot of the tank. After a week of random runs great then die, I removed the tank and properly cleaning it. After that , installed a sink strainer in the fuel neck(others use cold press mason jar SS filter ). Over 800 hrs since then ZERO fuel issues.

A faulty OPC won't 'sputter and die', it's quite a quick turn off. Easy to test, simply press peddle a bit forward and get off seat or stand next to tractor move treadle peddle. Engine dies in 2 seconds,+-. Doing it several times ,the way it shuts down is always the same. You can bench test it with a scope and battery of course.

Shuttering tends to be a random length events and not repeatable. Engine will run rough then stop after say 10 seconds, 2 second, 4 seconds NEVER a consistent 2 seconds.

Thank you for the input, I totally intend on bench testing the OPC timer before I replace it. Per the tech manual it outlines the procedure quite well. I am going to be inside the tank because my intake sending unit is in fact bad and am replacing it tomorrow all the prep work has been done. I will put another camera down to look for any obstructions. I will install a mesh screen at the neck as you stated.
Im trying to get as much information from professionals such as yourself to try and come up with a permanent solution, and not something I’m going to have to rework later. I just haven’t found anything in my tank. I’m having a hard time with gravity being the problem.
That’s all. But I’m willing to try anything if it will get my Kubota Bx23s running correctly. The manufacturer needs to be listening to these threads as well on how to improve their products.

You need really, really good light inside the tank to SEE...and in my case wouldn't have seen th eblack plastic vertically stuck in the outlet spigot. I used compressed air to 'clear the obstruction'. beign a 3 chambered tank 'floaters' can hide in the other chamber then get lodged into the outlet, bump, they're free again , to cause more misery later on.
Biggest challenge for me was removing the HEAVY seat assembly and then the floor pan/fender steel. It would have been real nice to have an extra pair of hands for those !!
I flushed out my tank 5-6 times with generous amounts of water, filled full of water and let gravity drain it all out. THEN blew compressed air in to remove most of the water, sloshed winter washer fluid in, drain, more air, then 'bake in the sun' for 2-3 hours, just to be 100% sure ALL the water was GONE. I was quoted 3hr labour for dealer to remove/clean/replace operations.

I am surprised Kubota doesn't have a 'neck filler screen' though I suppose the guy who designed the tractor never, ever actually put fuel in one....

Thanks again and yes you’re right the Kubota engineers that designed it probably never had to work on it. I’m going through the pain you’ve already gone through with disassembly but trying to minimize it is so difficult. I will let you know what I find in the tank and what the switch tests at and go from there hopefully this will help future owners. Regardless I love my Kubota
