Site slowness all day?

All day long I have been experiencing very slow loading- 30 seconds to a minute for every click, sometimes I just have to give up.
None of the other sites I visit are doing this...
What's up?

With Windows and FireFox updating and wrecking my computer frequently, there is no possible way to know what is slowing things down.

Yep - - I noticed the same, but thought it was my home system last night. No issues today.

Ok think the main issue here was a bunch of crawler bots on the site (100s of them) that were slowing things down for everyone else. I booted them off/blocked them and then updated the server hardware a bit to better protect in the future.

The bots crawl the forums for the search engines that develop traffic to the forums. Usually, they crawl the site during off-peak times.

Yep, these ones weren't respecting robots.txt and there were 100s of them at once. Bad bots!

The only issue I'm having this morning is the guy, Dr. somebody, who is upset because you're a troll. You invite someone to your party and he gets upset and pisses on the carpet. I now have to look up the definition of "troll" !
