L4300DT oil filler cap under alternator

Should this reservoir be filled to the top and with what sort of oil its a black plastic cap with oil written on it just below the alternator thanks in advance

I am assuming you are talking about engine oil? AND as for "filling to the top" I hope you do not mean to the top of the cap - you should have a dipstick - and fill between the two lines/dots on that.


If I am off base - take a picture of what you are talking about and upload it here.

Some Kubota engines have more than one motor oil fill, since they're used in different equipment/configurations.

Are you talking about this plug / cap?
If you are, leave it alone it serves no purpose to you.
There is just gears and splashed motor oil under the cap.
