What does everyone use to clean the sprayer and in particular the PTO pump after use? I have the cast iron one (can't find the 'silver' one anywhere) and am paranoid about this pump since everyone seems to say that round up will eat it up (quickly) if not cleaned properly.

I watched a couple of Youtube videos and I have added quick connects to the two hoses going to/from the pump. After I clean with dawn and water, I then fill the hoses and pump with gear oil and cap each side so it is bathed in oil when not in use. Would like to try and make this pump last as long as possible.

FIMCO has a sprayer cleaning/neutralization product, it’s a powder you mis and run through the sprayer.

Rinse it with something, soap and water at least, then fill it with diesel and set it aside. Just remember it's full of diesel next year so you don't get a bath when you pick it up!!

Triple rinse with water, drain the excess and store in a dry place. Spray solution doesn't care what the pump looks like inside 🤷

I simply run mild soap and water through mine to clean the tank then rinse with plain water. I have used the pump to spray gly for years and it's just fine.

YMMV,

Dan
