Howdy,
I have a new-to-me 2021 SVL97-2 and found this strainer in one of the clean-out cavities at the back of the machine. It fits in the fuel filler neck. It does not fit in the DEF or hydraulic fill ports. Did this strainer originate in the fuel filler neck? If it did, has anyone deleted it because of filling problems? Thanks

Yes it's supposed to go in the filler neck.
It does slow down fill it, but lot cheaper to slow down the fill to save a lot of issues.

I have a similar strainer in the filler neck of my L185. It does limit the flow of fuel into the tank a little and it also captures the foam so occasionally I have to limit the flow of fuel into the filler neck so that the bubbles don’t overflow and make a mess.

I don’t have to add that much fuel into the fuel tank so it doesn’t really make a big difference to me. If you intend to use s fuel pump to fill it up then it could be a small problem.

But it does keep a lot of junk out of the tank so I just tolerate the minimal problems it causes.

I have read too many threads on why engine stalls that end with something blocking the tank outlet and probably felL into the tank through the filler opening.
