Does anyone know a a FREE phone number search, giving all the who what where and when from a number.
Reason I keep getting calls same number several times a day I dont answer, cause I dont know the number. OK cool. Called the phone company said they can do nothing about it but to get on the DCL, I already am.
I guess I could stir some stuff, but I just dont feel like it. I mean it might be some one I know, some people dont like leaving a message on the machine, hence wanting to know who the DUCE it is,,,,

Google.....
though it'll show the registered user NOT the slimeballs 'spoofing' it to SCAM you....
most teleproviders have 'user call blocking', in my case I press *97 and the last number called is blocked.
This works far better than the federal do not call.

the real problem is 'they' won't go after 'spoofers', so you block a number, then they use another number, you block it, then they use another number......ad nauseum....

It's easy enough to send unknown numbers straight to voice-mail. Only hitch is that someone- wife, kid, parents- have an emergency and call from another number.

My bro-n-law likes to take the call… talk as if he’s truly interested…drag it out… take up their time…. then ask in a silly old-mans’ voice…”Do you like Kitties..?? I like kitties…. do You like kitties…??”

Takes up as much of their time as he can….. they quit calling.

If you are getting these on your mobile, go in to settings for phone and block unknown callers. If they are in your address book they will ring through, if it is important and it goes to VM, then I call back and apologize for missing the call. 99.9% of the remaining callers never leave a message. When my mobile rings, it is someone I know that I want to talk to.

Agree with the above. Real callers will leave a voicemail. Just be sure to listen to it before calling back. The scammers are wise to the folks who call back if voicemail left but don’t listen to the voicemail so they’ll leave either a blank voicemail or one stating the purpose of call such as “We’re calling from the IRS and have issued a warrant for your arrest. Call immediately to resolve this issue.”

Blocking numbers is swatting mosquitoes in a swamp. These creeps spoof numbers so even if you block a number the same people will call from another number. I have some pretty good pay per view reverse lookup stuff due to my work and have used it a bit for the purposes you want it for on these scammers. The numbers either go back to legitimate folks who had their number spoofed and know nothing about it or burner phones, mostly out of New York, New York. Reverse lookup doesn’t get you anywhere useful.

Silencing calls from numbers not in your address book may silence a few legit calls, but not many if you religiously add legit callers to your address book after reviewing a legitimate voice mail from them.

I have successfully gotten a few to stop calling by talking to them and insisting they provide a physical address where they can accept legal service before the conversation continues. Most hang up and don’t call back. Last one of those, of course, refused but wouldn’t hang up so I asked him if he was drunk or stoned. He said no. So I told him in that case he was either too stupid to be talking on the phone without competent supervision as he was too stupid to know where he was or he was full of shit, so give me the physical address where his ass was sitting right then at that moment. He hung up and hasn’t called back.

Always best to NOT 'upset' the unwanted callers.... they KNOW your number, where you live.....

sadly the eds won't take on the spoofers( kinda easy due to tarriff regs......) so call blocking of some kind is your only choice. Even companies like VISA won't do anything....
sigh.....

I think silencing calls from unknown numbers makes the most sense. Any business or govt concern will leave a message if they really need to reach you. However, there is a downside that you have to move them from your call log from time to time if you don't want to look at them.

This is the sane way of dealing with it all. I've always done it this way. It works.

There aren't many scammer free phone number searches anymore, don't click on the majority of google phone number search links as YOU WILL get hijacked by russian scammer sites paying google to scam you better

The following link can be helpful about 1/4 the time. Copy the link below and put the number you want to search in the XXX-XXX-XXXX field before searching

some more sites to search or validate caller numbers

As others have noted scammers are all spoofing numbers these days

If you want to get fancy and/or your phone has run out of caller blocking numbers spots you can set up a caller ID computer server which gives you options like blocking out area codes, countries, 800 numbers etc. The server can be set up to auto hangup or even play a Ma Bell "this number has been disconnected" message to signal the robocallers your number is DOA.

Just for fun, why not call back once, just to see what happens?

Guess the risk would be having them increase the frequency to six times per day. 🤣

I doubt even the most sincere old friend from times in the past would try calling your number three times a day day after day! I know I wouldn’t… No matter how much I liked the guy I was trying to contact.

OR, just answer once and show them the way a drunken sailer would respond, 😂😂😂

Thinking about this more, I think the solution is to just answer once, determine it’s some kind of a telephone solicration, or a scam, and then block the caller. Of course they can keep changing their number so that doesn’t help too much, but you said the same number keeps calling you so you will get rid of that number!
