All,

I haven't done much other than reattach the grapple and things were moving for the couple minutes I drove the tractor. I do still have the steel tube and will likely figure out all the mess I got myself into when this was installed in 2015.

That said, I let a friend from the Military borrow my truck this week while he was back in Alaska. He seems to have proceeded to smoke my 18month old clutch. I'm pulling the slave cylinder this weekend in hopes that it failed as I gave the truck to him....

Truck just took a higher priority. I'll start with re-seating all the connections and replacing the steel tube in the appropiate location.

*Edit* I just went out and disconnected all the QDs but I didn't have the keys with me. The FEL connections were really ??gross??. Not grit, etc, but more grime/black-ish. I wiped all the connections down on FEL, 3rd function and the grapple.

Thanks all!

Corey

Trouble seems to come in batches. Good luck with the clutch.

There is nothing functionally wrong with the current plumbing on your 3rd function. It's an unnecessary and ugly modification of the OEM plumbing but it is not causing your loader problems. The loader quick couplers were working in combination with curl so they are also not a cause of your problem. Given the grapple problem and the way things spontaneously resolved my guess is the spool in the third function was stuck and blocking the downstream circuit. If the problem recurs we can easily test that theory.

To reinstall the OEM tube you will need the two banjo bolts that were removed along with 4 new sealing washers. You will also probably need two new hoses of the appropriate length and with the correct fittings for hooking the 3rd function up between the loader valve and outlet block.
