Hello, I recently purchased my first tractor, a Kubota L35 TLB and am now the 3rd owner of it. It currently has 2170 hours only 5 more than when I acquired it and so far I am enjoying it. There are some things I will need to work on but a big one for me is that it did not come with the 3 point linkage kit.

I asked the seller and he said he never got it when he purchased it used and has never had the backhoe off. When I purchased my home a few years ago, I also acquired a 5' back blade, a 6' land pride box scraper with scarifiers, and a Kubota snow blower B/L 2563. I have hung onto them just waiting for this day to come but can not attach them. Eventually I will repost with questions concerning the snow blower.

I am pretty sure I have read on this site some info about this same 3 point linkage kit problem but cannot find the information. I checked with the dealer and the original kit is no longer available and parts need to be purchased separately, very expensive. I have also checked a bunch of salvage yards and have been told that those are usually the first things to be sold.

At the risk of you having to repeat yourselves I was hoping to get some help so I can use my implements. Thanks for any help.

Ask your dealer SALES department to price the kit for you through their whole goods ordering system.
Do NOT price the kit through the dealer PARTS department.
A BIG $$ difference!

Hi Guys,
Thank you for sending me the previous links I asked about, they proved necessary.

My local dealer has two locations with one close to me, the other a bit farther away.
I checked with the close one and the parts dept said no L35 kit available but individual parts are $2300 and higher. Holy @#$%. He sent me over to talk to the SALES dept about ordering it as whole goods. I did and I explained that the kit for the L35 is no longer available but I understand the one for the L39 should work and I gave him the part number asking if it can be purchased as a whole goods item. It took him 6 business days to get back to me and his reply was that the kit for the L35 is no longer available and I would have to buy the parts individually for $2300. Gee where did I here that before.

After waiting from Thursday to Monday of that 6 days I began calling other dealers some saying the same thing and even as high as $3895, others saying yes the L39 kit is available but not sure if it would work. I figured maybe I should call dealers located more in farm country so I extended my search to Messicks, others in PA, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Texas. I am still waiting for a couple to call me back, some stated the same about the L35 kit not available. And then I was lucky enough to get ahold of the parts mgr Stephen from Marshall Machinery, Honesdale PA,. By the time I called him he was closing in 30 minutes but said he would get back to me tomorrow. 15 minutes after he was closed he called and said the kit for the l35 is not available and would be very expensive to buy individual parts BUT the L3961 is available for $640 plus shipping. And then over the next two or three days he sent me some pictures from the parts manual wanting to make sure we were talking about the same parts and part numbers and exactly what I needed.

His last email to me was the price plus cost of shipping from Kubota to him and then shipping cost to me and would take about a month to get to him. He went on to say that there is nothing showing him that it will work but nothing stating that it won't work AND if I did not purchase from him he was attaching and excel spreadsheet of 21 other dealers, locations, phone numbers and mileage from his dealership that I could check with and maybe they would have it in stock. WOW what service!

And then I received the call from my dealer that the L35 kit was not available.

Well I took this info and went to the other local dealer a bit farther and ended up getting the GM in sales, he checked with the owner who stated that the transmission on the L35 is the same as the L3901, and that it would fit so he ordered the part for me and I had it in approximately 10 days.

Sorry for such a long email but If any of you are close to Marshall Machinery in Honesdale please patronize them to show my appretiation since I am too far away to do so.

I received the parts (2 boxes as stated) and after about 4 hours of taking the backhoe off and attaching these arms and parts I was able to attach my back blade that I will be using too clear snow and it worked. Hip Hip Hooray.

Lucky for me I had you guys in my back pocket and I thank you for your help.

A couple days later I went to the Good Works Tractor website and ordered the UHMW poly snow plow cutting edge to attach to this back blade and will hopefully install that before the snow arrives.

The back blade is petty rusted and was wondering what suggestions you have about sanding and painting before I attach the UHMW.

I also added two pass through/Slip hooks to the FEL bucket and copied an idea I got off of youtube for chain storage in the tube of the FEL using a 3" schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Thanks

EXCELLENT POST!
Exceptionally informative!
Now ALL L35 owners can know that the L3901 3pt. kit WILL fit the L35.
Thank you,....... from ALL of us!
