Axle Straps

I currently tie down my L3800 with heavy duty straps. My D rings aren’t in the best spots so I end up hooking the straps to the staked pockets. It’s a pain. Adding more D rings would be a big improvement but my schedule won’t allow all that now. I recently had the idea of running axle straps through my wheels. This would allow the straps to easily clear the loader and rear implement. Is this a bad idea?

Seems like the tension on the straps might be subject to change if the wheels rotated a bit, especially if hooking high on the wheels. If hooking low on the wheels, the slight angle to the deck might not be in your favor for securing the tractor.

5Eleven design has some nice tie down points that mount between the brush guard and the frame. See attached photos of my tractor with them. Before that I ran a chain behind the brush guard with a piece of fire hose to protect the paint. Still do it thatvwayon my little B.

I like to use chains and binders.

With this thread, it got me to thinking about tie down points (the lack there of) on my B2601. I found a vendor that looks to have some nice stuff for the B series.

These are made by JU FabWorks. They are both about $90 a pair and made of 5/16” A36 (standard stuff) plate. The ones I linked are actually for B and LX series.

I appreciate the front ties downs mount in three positions, two of which accommodate the front MMM mounting point.

The rear mounting points look like they might restrict the angle to the trailer deck, being as tucked in as they are. They won’t work with a cab model or if a backhoe is mounted.

Curious of what folks think of the JU FabWorks tie downs?

I added D rings in the same place on my MX. There’s a hole already there on opposite sides of the front of the frame.

Very stout.

Nothing fancy in the rear. Just have a twisted clevis/shackle back there for pulling, recovery and tie down when trailering (rarely trailer it).

Thanks. Wish I’d seen the JU L series front tie down down plate before I made my selection. I like how it’s one piece. Plus a competitive price.

The 5-11 B series front tie downs are hell for stout, with a bit of a price premium.

I have the front tie downs on my B2650 from JUfabWorks they are great. Bolt up
To holes already in the frame. No drilling. Took my and my grandson about 10 mins to put them on. I’ve got a BH so I don’t know about the rear ones

Impressive fab work! I like it. Thanks for sharing. I think yours is the only front tie down system that has the chain hooks themselves right on the tie down plate itself. The rest allow for a chain and hook to be looped though or for the chain’s hook to be placed on the loop.

I basically couldn't decide on hooks or D-rings so I figured why not put both on?

Overkill? Probably, but I got more weld time so theres that too...Hahahahha

Both my local dealers wrap a "tree saver" (choker) around the loader bracket tube.
