interesting subject. I have a really nice 1989 bronco xlt that I need to get rid of. I don't have time/space for it along with a couple of other cars I'm dumping.

lugbolt - only guessing the smaller Broncos from the ‘80-90’s were rebadged Mazdas?

I recall the Ranger pickups were somewhere in that timeframe. I had an ‘86 Ranger…don’t recall if it was a Mazda or not.

My 94 ranger was identical to the Mazda. Wife's Mazda 3 was identical to the Ford focus rental I had while traveling for work.

Yeah - knew the later - 90’s - pickups and cars were Mazda.

My coworker’s husband was proud to buy an “American” truck when he got his ‘90’s Ranger pickup. When I told him he bought a Mazda he told me I was full of 💩💩

Never thought of those little Broncos from the 80’s.

The Ranger was a Ford and Mazda sold it as the Mazda B series. The Escort and Probe were designed by Mazda and sold as Fords. The Mercury Villager and older Nissan Quest were designed by Nissan and manufactured by Ford.

Years ago my company truck was a mdi-80's Bronco II that I drove for a few years. It was a nice little two door unit with a homebrew mount for my Warn 8274. Never went anywhere that Matt would have needed to retrieve me from, and the winch was mostly used to pull others out in snowstorms. Had over 270,000 miles on it when they replaced it with a '90 Chevy 4WD Silverado.

I put 125k miles on that old 1986 Ranger. Was a Ranger S, 2wd, 5 speed manual with a 2L 4 cyl. Real basic truck.

Knocked when cold from day 1, and burned 1 quart of oil/1,000 miles too. Couldn’t kill that thing with a gun.

Mine was similar. Finally traded it at around 175,000 miles.

How do the new broncos compare to the fj for towing?

I like the looks of the fj but was disappointed when I went for a ride in one. Too car like IMHO.
I can relate. Drove a ‘79 Jeep CJ 7. Pretty utilitarian. Wrangler was just coming out.

Sat in a friend’s fully optioned 4-door Wrangler a few years ago. First time up close to one.

Certainly was plush compared to my old timer. Don’t know much about them otherwise (mechanically), but a lot of folks are fans. Guess they’re doing something right, just didn’t strongly appeal to me immediately.

I've seen only two of the new Bronco's in two door. But lots of 4 door broncos. Just last weekend for the first time I saw a green bronco. I was surprised to see yours is in green on the window sticker.
Beautiful color the one I saw.

Full size bronco’s was all ford.

you may be thinking of Bronco II. It was also Ford, but based on the Ranger platform, thus smaller

a lot of folks swapped 5.0 v8 into rangers and bronco IIs back in the day. But, believe it or not, 460 fits better….had one. Nothing special. Nose heavy.

some of the rangers were rebadged at Mazda B series in the early 90s I’m a joint venture between Ford and Mazda. B2300 had a Ford 2.3 SOHC. B3000 had Ford 3.0 Vulcan v6. B4000 had 4.0 Ford cologne v6.
