Kubota l6060 3rd function to grapple help

I'd guess one had gunk or flow restriction. Swapping lines shouldn't fix it per se, but taking apart and putting back together might.

Happy its fixed but still confused. You swapped what lines?

Do you really mean loader valve or more likely third function valve?

If third function was it work port lines to cylinder or pump supply and return?

This isnt adding up for me and I hate mysteries.

Lol Dan- it will be OK buddy . So I’ve probably not explained it correctly - follow the lines from the quick connects at the front of the loader , back to the connections by the cab ( where you disconnect the 4 quick connects for the loader it’s self and then there are 2 more for the 3rd function. I disconnected the 2 for the 3rd function and swapped them - then the grapple started working , crushing , gobbling up everything I grabbed with it and then opening quickly to dump said pile of brush and heavy branches. Does this help? I think that they just plumbed the two lines in reverse but I’m a big dummy so what do I know lol!

Possible but I'd say unlikely . The tractor is only 5 months old and should be clean as a whistle. I am wondering what else was touched in the process of swapping those hoses. Something electrical perhaps.....

Well Men, with a shortage of mechanics at our local bota dealer I don’t want to take it in there to possible sit for a month or two! It is under warranty and will be for 4.5 more years. If the valving is bad , it will show it’s ugly face so I will have to cross that bridge when I come to it! I had a bota service manager contact me yesterday evening and he figured the 3rd function valving was probably bad or had a sticky spot but sometimes swapping the lines does the trick.

Kinda sounds to me like he has a diverter and his bucket spool has regen.

I gave that a thought early on and yes that would match the symptoms.. But he said he has the OEM third function kit.

What really confuses me is why Kubota put the 3rd function valve where they did. Very exposed. As are all the FEL lines being connected outside of the FEL frame rails. Must have saved a couple bucks in manufacturing. I’m thinking a newbie in the woods could get expensive.

I built a shroud around minebut I do agree. Easier access vs open to easy damages!
