Man, you guys are a tough audience! I thought that was pretty good for a rank amateur. Heck, I had one door in my house out of plumb almost that far. Door wouldn't stay open. I finally took it completely out. The 'pros' had nailed the hinge side straight to the stud, which was 3/4" out. Then shimmed the jamb with corrugated paper.

I'll try to do better next time.
I wouldn't worry about internet "experts". Less than 0.14% error on the one side won't matter one bit once you have the shop up and full of things. You're actually out there and doing it.

Just finished our 42x48 deep garage. 2x6 construction with trusses, center storage area upstairs, 42x16 deep with 8’ clear. Put in a 34”x34” hole in upstairs floor for an electric winch to haul items up and down.

Garage door openings are 10’6”

Floor is minimum 5” thick concrete, 42x20’ deep concrete pad in front.

Driveway is 450’ long to get to garage. Another 75’ to where house will go up.

Alarm company comes a week from Friday for install.

The home will have 2 attached garages. Double car for my wife and a 41x40 garage with 10’6” doors with 14’ ceiling! The first floor has 12’ ceilings with 8’ doors…

My wife bought 24 acres that was land locked behind out behind our Maine home. We live in Ohio, but I thought about 2 months before I said this to her…if we can build a new home on the lot I will move to Maine…took her less than 1 second to say yes.

The lot is covered completely in trees and granite. When the lot was cleared that generated about 20-25 cords of oak and other hardwoods. I need to clear some paths for driving our Polaris around, plowing the drive in winter and moving cut wood. Now you know why we bought a Kubota L3560 tractor. The photo shows 2/3 of the wood that needs to be cut up…

I should add, every surface on the outside of the garage is maintenance free. I’m too old (67) to be wasting time painting and maintaining The outside of the building.

What are those surfaces? That's a fine garage!

The white boards you see are solid PVC
The siding in vinyl siding
The cupola white pieces you see are solid PVC with copper roof
2nd floor windows are vinyl wrapped Anderson

I should add the home will be the same, maintenance free exterior.

Fantastic shop/garage/mancave!! And you'll be "one BUFF dude" when you finish cutting up all of that wood!! (y) Is "Superb" a better or more proper adjective than "fantastic"? Both apply!!

I hope it ends up actually "maintenance free". My experience is nothing actually is. It may be that it has to be replaced at the end of its life because paint won't stick to it. Maybe they have improved since my purchases, but that claim has been a let down for me. The sun and elements are pretty brutal on exterior stuff, especially vinyl. Best of luck, though. The garage looks beautiful.

Thank you. It will be maintenance free for the rest of my life! Someone else can worry about fixing things…

We even bought a Stihl Mosquito sprayer…

6/24-6/26 Sat/Mon Truss guys put up trusses. I'll add some diagonal bracing and remove what they left. Roof steel should be here in about a week.

Your building project is moving along nicely. That's a good size too.
