Waaay unusual topic

I live on a barrier island (Grand Isle) on the Louisiana coast. Hoping to find some info about protecting a side by side from salt damage. Maybe some of you that fight road salt have a better idea than I came up with..

My plan is to use a water sprinkler with a connection like what I use to flush out the outboard motor and wash down the skiff. I have had good results over the years with Salt Away as the flushing agent, so with the sprinkler slid under the SxS, I can let it run and move it around to try to get the nooks and crannies flushed.

Any thoughts that might point a better way for me?

They have similar set ups at rock quarries around here. Basically a large set of sprinklers shooting water up through a large cattle guard. As well as side sprinklers for the tires and sideboards of the trucks.

Driving over a sprinkler and hosing down the sides seems like a pretty easy solution

To leave the quarry you must run over the cattle guard.

Running over a sprinkler or two seems like an easy solution as well as coating the belly with some fluid film.

You may find them at less cost than this but they work for what your wanting. We get our gravel road treated for dust control and it's a product that PROMOTES rust! I bought one for that purpose. I use it the day they lay the juice down.

Had a customer with a old rust free K-car and he swears that turtle wax and then coat with aqua net hair spray on the undercarriage stops rust. I do not know but his car was rust free. Fluid film is another good choice, just perform an undercarriage wash pretty often.

Fluid film

IMHO LPS-3 (it has a mil spec.) is a better salt spray protectant than Fluid Film.

Where I worked, the cargo compartments of our airline aircraft were all treated with LPS-3 prior to being put in service, ostensibly to protect aluminum from animal urine corrosion.

I live by the salt water.
I have been using LPS-3 for 50+ years.

u can keep salt OFF of stuff but can you keep it OUT of other stuff?

Bearings, axles, suspension joints, shocks, and a ton of other areas.

I actually made my own undercarriage washer, similar to the one in the pic above but it sprays upwards. Slick little tool that I use often on the SxS, and truck, and cars. But I don't live in the salt belt, things do rust here but it takes a long time.
