I won the lottery this past week, and now I can't sleep wondering what I am going to do with all that money after they take the taxes out.

Went to a car cruise tonight and won the door prize, and then won the 50/50 raffle for $53. Bought 7 tickets for $5. Earlier this week I learned that a company that I invested in 15 years ago was sold and I am getting 14.5 times my original investment in the company next month.

I laugh when folks won't buy a lottery ticket because of "the math ", the chances, the principal, or even the "result if you win is bad".

Most of us leave a tip for at least 2 bucks. Or two bucks worth of gravel gets wasted when you're grading your driveway .
Buy a ticket. You'll most likely lose it one way or another. At the least you'll have a microscopic chance to be stupid wealthy. Have a hot wife and any toys you want. Lol

I already have the hot wife and all the toys that I want. If I win, I will just divide up the money among all the participants of the forums.

My wife found out that I hit the lottery last night. This morning she asked me what I was going to do with the money. I told her that I would give her half and then asked her what she was going to do with her half. Told me that she was just waiting for the day that she had enough money so she could leave me. I handed her a ten and a five and told her to get out. Best $30 that I ever won. Cost me $100 to have the locksmith come out to change all the door locks. Then I threw all her clothes and shoes out on the front lawn and watched the feeding frenzy with the homeless picking what they wanted. Single life is good.

Somehow I think you’re kidding. A hot wife will cost you a lot more than $15 to get rid of.

Better hope that was a six figure investment in that company 15 years ago…minus the taxes.

Sure hope it is in new stock, or Uncle Sam will take a good hunk of your winnings!

This is a revised old thread.
We have the tri state megabucks
Me, NH & VT
generally the jackpot only gets to 2 or three million and some wins. Every three weeks. So one of theses days.
I figure I'm only about $60.k in the hole currently.

I’ve never been that lucky myself, though I did win $50 on a scratcher once, which felt like a small victory. But I imagine it’s funny how everyone comes out of the woodwork when they hear about a big win in the town, like suddenly you’ve got a lot more “best friends.” If I ever hit it big, I’d probably set up a little trust for family, too, just to keep the mooching at bay. In the meantime, I’ll stick to playing poker and sites like themulligans.org to keep my gambling fix satisfied.

I figure I'm $3640 ahead of the game since I have never bought a ticket. That's based on one $2 ticket per week for 35 years.

When we were younger, in our twenties, my mother in law would buy 5 scratchers for stocking stuffers for all the children and their significant others. One of mine actually hit for 600 bucks…paid the rent with it…

I once took a chance on an Indian blanket, and 9 months later I won a papoose.

Oct 8, 2020 I won the lottery. Quit the service tech position at the Kubota dealer. Don't miss it none either.

Not to brag, but I hit Powerball for $8 on Wednesday. I’ve stopped answering the phone and knocks on the door to try and keep it all for myself. Lol

I did win a couple of 50/50 drawings at work for a friend named Denny, that was diagnosed with cancer. I didn’t keep one cent for myself and gave all of the money to him. Sadly, he passed in Feb of 2020. The VP of the company asked what I bought with my winnings and he seemed surprised when I told him I gave it to Denny because he needed it worse than me.
