In your lifetime, what was your favorite car you owned?
Mine was a 2005 Mustang.
My husband‘s was a 1976 Firebird Formula 400.
Now we are both older and I drive a Toyota Highlander and he drives a F150.

I had two "favorites".
The first was a 1972 Ford F250. I owned this truck up to the time I broke my back and required driving with hand controls. Being a 4 speed manual transmission was not an option to keep it.

My second favorite is this 1969 Dodge Coronet 440 super bee clone car that has a 727 auto transmission and 383 big block. I am happy to say I passed it on to my son which adores the car and intent on keeping it in the family.

Sorry to stray off topic, but I'm not a car guy at all so I will tell you my favorite tractor. International 1466 open station.

Mine was a 1962 Ford Thunderbird. I drove that car all throughout High School. It was a chick magnet and I put it to good use. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it.

I do have one other favorite though, for different reasons. I had a 2009 VW Jetta TDI. It was a great car in all respects until the EPA mandated a programming change to the engine and DPF. After the programming change my fuel mileage went down drastically from 54-55 MPG to 33-34 MPG. I ended up selling that car back to VW under their buy-back program.

While it was a maintenance nightmare, my favorite is probably a 1979 Jeep CJ7.

Full time 4WD with Quadra-Trac and 10 mpg from the straight 6. Gas was up to $1.60(?) per gallon.

Had a 60/40 bench seat in front. Was an unusual setup for a CJ of the era. I was commuting to college then. Had to fuel up every 36 hours….

Thing was totally impractical but could go through some pretty tough conditions. Drove Interstate Highways every day, which it wasn’t made for.

A blast to drive through the woods….this was my commute home from college….

Note the right side windshield wiper is an old boot sock….

I had a 65 Belair. Should have never sold that car. But I was late teens and needed the cash.

250 I6 with the 2speed automatic transmission.

I had a 67 Caprice. 327 4-bbl with Turbo 400 transmission. Learned a lot about small block Chevies…

White and jacked up in the rear with wide tires. Cherry Bomb Header mufflers “For Off Road and Track Use Only..”. Got a lot of attention from the police….

2002 Audi Allroad with the 2.7L twin turbo engine and air bag suspension. My wife and I had one each, although hers was a 2003 model.

1965 Oldsmobile 442 same as this one except I had the original mag wheels. Bought it new for about $3500. That was when 442 actually meant something, 4 barrel, 4 speed and dual exhaust.

My first car when i was 17 was a used 63 galaxy 500 with a 390 5 bbl. I loved that cat all the way up to the trunk rusting out and losing the gas tank. My all time favorite was a 74 MGB. Traded it in on a 80 Buick Regal when kids started coming along.

Had an IH 1ton pickup, all wheel drive, split windshield and 3 piece rear window. Bought it with my dad in 83, was a he'll of a truck and some really good memories around it. Still have dreams of it, and my dad. Happy fathers day to all

'69 XKE roadster. Drove it all through college then sold it to my Brother in Law and purchased something more practical.

It ran well as long as you kept the carburetors synchronized. Mine had dual Strombergs (sidedraft), yours probably had the three SU sidedraft carbs.

Dig that old "High Boy" with its divorced Tcase. Looks like you might have had a Warn 8274 up front too?

I am wondering if you mistyped the 5 BBL carburetor instead meaning a 4 bbl carburetor. I have never heard of a 5 bbl. That does not mean one does not exist, it just means I want to know the make and model of the 5 bbl carburetor.
