Hi folks! Used my BX2380 today and noticed front tire was almost flat. These are the 18x8.5x10 Grass Master turf tires. I had them at 20psi( max on sidewall listed is 22psi) to move some dirt last week, and also last fall moved quite a bit. I only used the turfs because the R14T tires would have torn up my lawn. I also ran into this problem with the front turf tires on the BX1870 I had, but those were in their 6th year, these ones are in their 2nd( date code of 1721). The tread likes to split in the sipes going down side of tire. So some quick research I can either buy a new pair on ebay for about $120, or tube it. Posts have been made saying there is no 18x8.5x10 tube, that they used a 18 x8.5/9.5x 8 size tube. So I stopped by Harbor Freight and they had the 8” tube in stock for $9.99. It does have straight stem, as I was looking in posts if they mentioned straight or angle stem. I hope it works. I will not Slime the tires, as it is nothing but a mess if I ever have to replace the tire.

Check the max weight of those tires at max pressure. I'm thinking they won't be 780#@22PSI which I believe is what the ones on my BX23S are rated for. Bat 'turf tires' aer only good for say 400# ???
I'd really like to get a pair of Kenda K514 (?) but not available in Canada,eh and Amazon won't allow me to buy in the USA and ship to USA.

Why don't you get a turf tire with a better weight rating?

Yup I run tubes in mine . Only problem I've had is that I've had a stick rip the stem off once while doing some brushing. Ever since that I keep a spare tube on hand. BTW I buy my tubes from Speciality Tire.

Send me the check, in USD ....and I will buy on Amazon for you, and have them shipped to your chosen USA address.
I have lived through the PITA Canada buying/shipping issues.

It's easier to have my American friends buy them, but I refuse to give ANY money to Amazon. Their 'buying policy' is nonsense !!! I've order 1,000$ worth of 'computer' chips from the largest USA MFR and they direct ship from their overseas factories ,usually in 6-7 days.

In a capitalistic society, it’s all about who provides the same product in a lower price. If Amazon happened to provide the same product at a lower price, why would you buy from somewhere else at a higher price?

On the other hand, if Amazon charges more for the same product, which I’ve seen many times, why would anybody buy from Amazon when they can find the same product (delivered) elsewhere in the lower price?

I assume that those chips you bought from the USA “manufacturer”, and are shipped from overseas, were a lower price than Amazon. That just makes sense. But they are not from a USA manufacturer. Or even a North American manufacturer… they are foreign made, and supplied by a company that has its offices in the United States.

The bottom line is that I CANNOT BUY from Amazon.com. THEIR policy does NOT allow me to.
Yes, I would and have bought the same item from someone who charged more for it, Buying 'local' keeps LOCAL businesses open for business, neighbours employed, taxes a little lower.

The chips I get DIRECT from the manufacturer, who sends them via courier from their plant.I seriously doubt Amazon actually sells them, though I will check later.
yes, gone are the days when you could buy chip locally made...tis the nature of a 'free market society'

OK, just checked , one micro I use a lot of (PIC18F46K22) , of the 4 hits NONE were that device ! Amazon search should have had ZERO hits, not 4 random ones...

What size tubes? Will the 18x8.5/9.5x8 work before I take tire off?

If it’s dry, the R14’s are fine. It’s in the spring and fall when lawn is soft that the R14’s are not kind to..

They are the ones that Kubota puts on, so 780# like yours. The same ones on ebay are 780#

Just in case this comes up in the future. 18x8.5-10 means 18 inch diameter tire, 8.5 is the tire section width -10 means the rim is 10 inch diameter. So question is will a 18-8.5-8 tube fit. The 10 inch rim diameter is larger than an 8 inch rim diameter so an 8 inch tube will actually be a little over sized as far as space (ie it has some slack).

So will a 18x8.5/9.5-8 tube fit?
Yes they will. I put them in my tractor tires 3 years ago and haven't had any issues.
This is for TUBES! New tires have to be the same rim diameter.

I see the OP is from western NY, USA.

Not sure if he found a resolution to his issue.

What I would do is get the existing tires foam filled by an industrial tire shop. NOT that expensive. Did it twice on both of my tractors. My son in law's BX23S as well.

Do it and forget the issue...now about winter to start, so the OP will have time to consider this advice...LOL
