I have seen front loader flail mowers that look pretty sweet. Hydraulic powered I think. Anyone here have one? I have a B2710 and would love to mow before my tires smash the brush down and to also see the mower in front of me. Anyone know if there is something available that would attach to my tractor? I have seen kabota small tractors that have a front pto that are pretty slick. No such luck on my old B2710.

I supposed the flail would be hydraulically powered? If so, I suspect the hydraulic flow rate on our smaller units may be a consideration to running one?

There is an on going thread about a lane shark which is sort of a brush hog mounted on the FEL. Right now the OP is trying to get it set up to run and the hydraulic plumbing seems to be thought provoking.

I’d sort of like a FEL mounted post hole auger and I know only specific units work on the low flow hydraulic systems most of the Ls and smaller have.

Sometimes I’ll mow in reverse with my L and the brush hog when I’m in really over grown stuff. That accomplishes what you mentioned. As long as it isn’t hours at a time. Be warned, when you tear the tail wheel and bracket off and set the BH on it, things get loud and expensive. My dealer told me you keep mowing in reverse and I’ll keep selling you parts.

Yea you don't have the hydraulic system to handle running a front mounted flail mower.
They take quite a bit of flow.

I have a Del Morino rear-mounted flail mower that is PTO driven. It can be turned around with the
right set up to be a front-mounted system. Based on the way mine mows off the PTO, it would
a lot of hydraulic power to achieve the same results. Check out Good Works Tractor and see some
of his videos using smaller tractor and flail mower.

Ventrac and one other company are the only front mounted flail mowers I can think of. The mowers talked about in this thread can front mount mow but they are hydraulic bushhogs.
