Excessive play in the steering. the steering wheel with the tractor off. Steering wheel moves about 100 degrees before it gets resistance.
Some of this is the tie rod ends but not sure about the rest.
Looking for help.

I have the same problem with my L4200. Did you get your excessive play in your steering solved?

2wd or MFWD? Mines a MFWD. the front steering cylinder is under the radiator, the front mechanical steering is bolted to it. Make sure the bolts are tight. Slack when OFF is normal, it is still hydrostatic (hydraulic) steering. There is no mechanical linkage to the steering. This setup is the norm throughout all tractor manufacturers nowadays. Anyway likely mechanical. Remember the saying "keep it simple stupid, KISS" if you narrow it down to the valve and you have doubts, have someone rebuild it. Not difficult to remove with hand tools. It I likely mechanical, THIS INCLUDES LEAKS.

You need to get under the front end and have someone move the steering back and forth.
More than likely you have a part or parts that have excessive wear.

Your JD slip is showing... :ROFLMAO:
Kubota does not call it MFWD, they call it DT (Dual Traction) or simply 4WD. ;)

Yea I know essentially the same.
