Thoughts on a t-post/tree puller attachment?

Im considering purchasing a t post/tree puller attachment. I feel like i could get alot of use out of it if it works as well as it seems. Looks like there are a few of you that have one after doing a search for it. I do have a couple questions. I've already damaged my ssqa to the point it had to be replaced using my root grapple so i really don't want to do that again. Are these things safe to use? I feel like there is a risk for doing damage to the FEL. I'm also wondering why does it appear the pulling teeth are off center on the attachment? Wouldn't that create an uneven force on one side of the FEL? Maybe im not looking at it right in the picture. Anyways, just wondering what others think of this. Thanks in advance.

my take...

OK, ANY 'tool' can be abused and broken when you 'over do it'. usually anything stubborn will come out by taking several steps, a little at a time. Things can go bad with a 'one shot' approach.

The teeth (jaws ) are offset to mount the single hydraulic cylinder. They could have used two shorter cylinders but that adds cost and complexity to the tool.

Danuser Intimdator

Centered one cylinder.

Can excavate or cut roots for better extraction.

I have the Titan tree puller and used it quite a bit with my MX5800 for removing small trees, up to 4” diameter in sandy soil. I would not consider using it on my L3901 and trying to pull 4” trees. Later I purchased a track loader and now only use it on the track loader. The performance on a track loader is excellent.

As you found out a tractor FEL on a L series can be easily damaged, I would suggest that a tree puller can be used for light work only.

The Danuser unit recommended above is really a skid steer / track loader or very large tractor unit, certainly not to be used on a L series tractor FEL. They weigh 700 lbs plus.

Have a Danuser Intimdator for 6 years.
Used routinely on B26. Small trees, invasive like privet, Russian olive or rose.

Highly maneuverable around fences and buildings.
On the M59 a real beast. Being able to excavate, break roots makes it so much more useful. Good sight lines and design makes moving and stacking rocks easy. Also easy make a pile of brush, grab and haul off. Top photo has about a dozen privets and olive.
Price is double now. Appreciating value ? Significant initial cost. But it can do so much more than other pullers. Work multiplier and time saver important maintaining our farm.

Wow, pretty impressive. What size FEL do you have?

TL500 on B26. 1200# lift. Higher curl.
T-post pull straight up. Tree or brush you grip low and drive forward to rip out of the ground is more effective than just using FEL hydraulics. Small stuff can back up. Then lift to shake dirt and move low and slow.
Mine only has top root cutters

3400# lift on M59. Excavated with tines closed.
Skid steer quality so no worries about damage. Caution!! Face muscles get sore instead of back from constant grinning.
